THE EDUCATION SYSTEM IN POLAND The education system in Poland is centrally managed by the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Full-time compulsory education covers children aged 6-18 years. Compulsory education includes the final year of pre-primary education, 6-year primary education and 3-year lower secondary education. Secondary schools (3 or 4 year secondary education), are administered by district authorities. Adult education is provided by education centres, practical training centres and further and in-service training centres.

SECONDARY SCHOOLS VOCATIONAL SCHOOL enables the students to obtain vocational qualification diploma after passing the professional qualification exams, and also further education after finishing the second grade of the adult comprehension school Comprehensive school enables the students to obtain secondary school certificate after passing A-level exams Technical college enables the students to obtain vocational qualification diploma after passing the professional qualification exams, and also gaining the secondary school certificate after passing A-level exams
SCHOOLS School for mentally retarded offers vocational training for the mentally and also phsysically handicapped pupils with mild, moderate or severe mental retardation. It provides them with vocational training and qualification diploma. Adult comprehensive school education lasts for three years, enables the students to obtain secondary school certificate after passing the A- level exams Post secondary school (college) - provides post-secondary education for people who have already obtained the secondary education. It enables them to obtain vocational qualification diploma after passing the professional qualification exams
VOCATIONAL SCHOOL Since 2012 three years of schooling in every profession in a trade school are obligatory Comprehensive education: school curriculum for the first class is the same for the first class in both; Comprehensive School and Technical College. Vocational Training: - Theoretical vocational training 630 hrs - Practical vocational training 970 hrs After accomplishing the trade school students can carry on with their further education in adult comprehensive schools (there are three grades) they start from the second grade (to take A-level exams they are obliged to learn for at least two years in the comprehensive school)
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION EXAMS VOCATIONAL EXAM IS CARRIED FOR : Students: Trade schools (three grades) Technical colleges (four grades) Post secondary schools People, who completed vocational trainings and courses People, who are 18 or older but they aren t school pupils extramural exams

TECHNICAL COLLEGE Technical secondary school (technical college) Learning duration: 4 years It enables students to obtain: Matura exam certificate (A-level exam) Vocational training and qualification diploma

VOCATIONAL SCHOOL Trade school prepares students to take up a job and also acknowledges the obtained vocational qualifications in the external exams.
FOREIGN LANGUAGES obligatory English, German, Russian, (two of them must be chosen by the student) optional - Italian Levels: beginners intermediate advanced
