The school was founded in 1983 as a public secondary technical school of crafts and services. In 1992 it was transformed into a private institution. Recently there are approximately 1000 students from Karviná and its environs. DAKOL includes three types of schools: DAKOL College of Business and Services, DAKOL Secondary School and DAKOL Secondary Technical School. DAKOL schools also participate in several projects financed mainly by European Union funds. As a centre of perpetual education, which is called The World of Education, DAKOL focuses on the development in the field of perpetual education. All above mentioned is administered directly by both founders, Mgr. Jaroslav Dadok and Mgr. Vladimír Kolder. DAKOL Secondary Schools are the only schools in our region which were awarded the education quality certificate according to the ČSN EN ISO 9001: Studies For those interested in the studies DAKOL Schools offer a wide range of various subject areas. DAKOL College of Business and Services offers the specialization of A Businessman for trade and services. DAKOL Secondary School provides the possibility to study a perspective branch Hotel and tourism. DAKOL Secondary Technical School offers studies completed with the maturita exam in the areas of A Mechanic of Machines and Appliances and A Businessman. But this is not all. DAKOL Schools prepare students for other professions as well, such as: mason, plumber, locksmith, carpenter, cook, waiter, etc.

2 The Background for the Studies You can find necessary equipment for theoretical and practical education within the educational complex (classrooms, workshops, school kitchen, gym, fit centre, and a multifunction playground). The list of school buildings also includes educational capacities for some subject areas in Karviná. The classrooms in our complex are equipped with the most up to date information and communication technologies including multimedia device and Internet access. A library and a study are a must. TRADITION QUALITY SUCCESS The only schools in our region which were awarded the education quality certificate according to the ČSN EN ISO 9001: Member of National Hotel and Restaurant Federation of the Czech Republic. Participant of EU funds projects (EQUAL, PHARE, ) and the Leonardo da Vinci project. We are a centre of perpetual education called The World of Education.

The classrooms in our complex are equipped with the most up to date information and communication technologies including multimedia device and Internet access. A library and a study are a must.

3 We are a detached workplace of the State Language School, Ostrava. We have a great range of appliances for the practical education of our students. Our students have successfully participated in various professional competitions. We cooperate with the Silesian University in Opava Faculty of Business and Trade in Karviná and the University of Business in Ostrava. Our students can use a modern detached working place Hotel DAKOL in Petrovice u Karviné, where they, and the trainees of several technical subjects, can complete their practical education sessions in the operation of hotel, accommodation, and trade centers. During their studies the students have an opportunity to take part in professional short-term attachments in abroad or in the best local hotels. What Our Students Do We organize a lot of programs for leisure time activities. We offer various hobby clubs, organize weekend trips, theatre visits, tours and stays in France or Croatia. We also support these activities financially. Students, but also employees of DAKOL Schools, can use a wide range of sports facilities the multifunction playground, (tennis, handball, football tennis), sauna, gym, and a FIT CENTRE. Thanks to our long tradition and experience with business activities we can provide our students with a rich offer of professional practice education sessions with the possibility of future employment for our best graduates.

We cooperate with the Silesian University in Opava Faculty of Business and Trade in Karviná and the University of Business in Ostrava.

4 DAKOL School Projects Your Future a project focused on improving the ability to return to the labor market for people with integration problems. Financially supported by EU (EQUAL). Computers for People as the result of this project we opened two multimedia classrooms equipped with information and communication technologies which will serve as centers of perpetual education. Financially supported by EU New Qualification, a Chance to Assert Oneself this project deals with the problem of improving the professional qualification of Romany teenagers in several training courses. Financially supported by VIA foundation To Educate Oneself Actively, to Live Actively this project was focused on improving the qualification of unemployed people in preparation courses. As a result the Protected workshop for electro waste processing has been founded. Financially supported by EU (Phare 2000). Training Institution Will Prepare Me for the Business Career the goal of this project was to interconnect the study matter DAKOL students gained during their theoretical studies with practice and thus to prepare them for the real professional life.
