Hello from the other Sarah! (the new one) Front Desk News I am excited to have joined the UCC staff this September as the Administrative Assistant. Originally from Topeka, I am the middle of 6 siblings and grew up in the country while homeschooling. In 2010 the Lord called me to Manhattan Christian College and Kansas State University where I have earned a bachelors degree in Social Work and Bible and Leadership. Manhattan has become my new home and I am greatful for this opportunity to join my church family in ministry. I look forward to meeting more of the church body. In addition to the reading plans for The Story that are available at the church or office, we also can access the reading plan digitally through the Olive Tree app. This allows us to both read the Bible within the app and encourages users to download reading plans to follow along with! It is available both on the App Store and Google Play Store for smartphone users, but it can be downloaded onto your Mac or PC by heading to olivetree.com. The ability to have interactive Bible studies and endless resources means that you can study in the way that works best for you. You will be able to search through many reading plans, and you can find our church s by searching for UCC Reading Plan in the Get More Plans section of the app. If you are having any troubles with the app, Olive Tree has a very helpful resource center you can check out! University Christian Church s Annual Meeting will be held on November 15th, 2015 in the Family Life Center at 6 p.m. During this meeting, we will talk about what we have been doing with reports from our various ministries, but even more importantly, it ll be a time to communicate what we value and our vision of where we are headed as a church. We will also be voting on new elders and our budget for 2016. We will also have an update on the Way Forward building project! The names of those nominated for positions will be released at the beginning of November. Absentee ballots will also be available in the office during the week of November 9-13th. If anyone has any additional questions, please contact the UCC office at 785.776.5440 or contact us through our website at www.uccmanahattan.net! Please don t forget to update your contact information on Sunday mornings as we will be printing church directories before the Annual Meeting. Sign-ups for the directories will be available in October.
New Life In Christ 11:15 a.m., October 4, 11, 18, and 25 Room 110 Kenna McFall, kenna@uccmanhattan.net If your child has either recently been baptized or is thinking of being baptized, we have a class designed just for him/her. This 4 week class will begin in October and in the class we will help your child understand what baptism is all about, why we baptize, what communion is all about, and other faith practices in the church. This class is designed for children in 1st-6th grade in preparation for Baptism Sunday on November 1 st. Please RSVP for the class to Kenna McFall.
UCC Adult Choir 4:45-6:00 p.m. Beginning August 30 th, Sanctuary Genae Denver, genaedenver@mccks.edu Interested in singing in UCC s choir? Join us in singing praises to the Lord! The UCC Choir rehearsals will be on Sunday s and go through December. Anyone in the church family is welcome to come join. The Power Of Prayer Are you looking for a time to pray? Come and join us as we rise up as prayer warriors for our nation and world. The Sanctuary will be open on Monday evenings from 5:30-6:30 p.m. We encourage you to come and go as you need throughout the hour. October Food Packing Event The Food Packing Event (FPE) happening right here at UCC this fall is going to be a great chance for you, your family, or even your lifegroup to give back! Working alongside other organizations, we will be packaging up items to make various meals to be able to send food to children in Eden s Childrens Village, a mission that is close to many hearts in our church. More details will be coming soon, but mark down on your calendar October 29-31 for the FPE. We want to fill as many boxes as we can so we are encouraging the whole church family to come in and help!

Y O U T H Oasis is a weekend youth conference designed to help deepen your faith in Jesus Christ. It s for middle and high school students and it takes place right here in Manhattan, KS. We ll be joined by hundreds of other youth from churches all over the region. Oasis features dynamic worship, study, and fellowship activities. Look for specific details (times, cost, housing, etc.) on our website on October 1st (uccmanhattan.net). M I N I S T R Y
Every 1 st and 3 rd Friday of the month, the UCC MOPS group will meet in the Sanctuary. For questions, contact Chelsea Hutchinson at hutchinson.chelsea@outlook.com! WINGS WINGS is a woman s Bible study that meets on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the 100 building and on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. in Room 301. We will meet weekly throughout the fall and winter. MEN S MINISTRY The Men s Ministry at UCC is all about authentic manhood. Join us and discover the man that you always wanted to be as we learn to live a life of truth, passion and purpose. This Bible fewllowship group meets every Tuesday morning at 6:00 a.m. this fall. Our morning meetings will be held in the UCC Sanctuary. Join us for some good conversation and dive deeper into God s Word. Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love. 1 Corinthians 16:13-14
