Q&A Session Date: Wednesday, November 14, 2012 Q: Does Verizon Unified Communications and Collaboration as a Service (UCCaaS) support Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise (UCCE) or have integration to a customer instance? Yes. UCCaaS can be integrated with customer premise or privately-hosted instances of the Cisco UCCE contact center solution. Q: With UCCaaS, is the customer charged by device/phone or other method? By user. Based on the package you choose, you could have multiple devices. Very much like CUL, Cisco s enterprise licensing methodology. Q: I heard a mention of Cisco Jabber. Does the strategy integrate with Microsoft Lync? Yes, it does. There are several types of integration including Remote Call Control, Cisco Unified Communications Integration for Microsoft Office Communicator (UCIMOC), or connecting the two systems together if you are using Enterprise Voice in Lync. Q: Is the IP Trunking SIP-based? Yes.
Q: When will the Apple iphone client be out? Cisco Jabber IM and Jabber Voice for iphone are currently available. Q: How about for Android devices? The Jabber for voice on Android has been out for some time. Jabber for IM on Android was just released last month. Verizon UCCaaS supports both of these for on-premise use. Jabber for voice on Android and iphone is also supported, but does not support 911. Q: How well does as a service tie in with Microsoft Active Directory and our financials using Microsoft SharePoint - 31 buildings - 667 phones? Integration with Active Directory is supported for Single Sign On and it is helpful to overlay your own password security policies with UCCaaS. SharePoint exposes APIs that allow the jellybean or presence indicator that both, Lync and Jabber subscribe to - so you can see presence. Q: Is UCCaaS scalable and dynamic? Yes. The system can scale up or down, and monthly billing will reflect these changes. It is important to estimate the size of your enterprise during the design phase, as the virtual hardware is based on these estimations. If you grow or shrink beyond what was estimated during the design phase, virtual servers can be added or subtracted. Q: Can Cisco UCIMOC integrate with Lync Online (Microsoft Office 365)? We are awaiting certification for 365. Although UCCaaS is comprised of the Cisco Unified Messaging, Unity Connection, and Cisco platform elements, Verizon will need to certify other platform components. Q: What about telephone numbers? We run a multi-cluster Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) environment with SIP to two carriers, depending on location. To migrate to this solution, would we port our telephone numbers? You can port your telephone numbers if you want. You could keep your own SIP trunks in place, but we encourage using Verizon s SIP trunking that is already integrated with UCCaaS. Q: What is the average cost per seat for the basic telecom customer? Verizon offers aggressive volume discounts for customers who subscribe to multiple Verizon services and are subject to an Annual Volume Commitment. This allows you to benefit from your overall Verizon spend, without having to commit to specific UCCaaS volumes.
For the UCCaaS basic package, the per-user list price is $22 (plus taxes and surcharges) per month, which includes telephony and voicemail. Your pricing will vary based on the features and implementation you select. Q: Can UCCaaS be implemented globally? UCCaaS is currently available in the United States, with ICB consideration of other locations for multinational corporations. Q: What are the network requirements? Do you need to be on a Verizon network? Yes, it is recommended that you subscribe to Verizon Private IP (our Layer 3 MPLS VPN) for the best customer experience. This gives Verizon the ability to configure the network voice and video queuing appropriately and monitor for any QoS issues from end-to-end. Verizon does support third-party networks on a case-by-case basis. Q: When hosted, how do sites receive E911 alerts and other Call Detail Record (CDR) reporting? Via email or automated call to chosen extensions. For CDR reporting, CDRs are dumped to an on-site server for customer analysis. Q: Unity Connection voicemail - would we need to integrate the solution to our existing Unity Connection application? Yes, if you have Unity Connection on premise you can integrate to cloud-based Verizon UCCaaS Call Control (Cisco Unified Communications Manager). Q: Along the SIP trunk thought path - Does Verizon plan on expanding their local service to compete with Lumos Networks local calling area over SIP? In the United States, SIP trunking availability depends on the calling package. The Local and Long Distance package is available in 361 MSAs, and the Long Distance Only package is available nationwide, and is recommended to be used as a centralized hub and spoke trunking model with UCCaaS. Q: My question is linked to the global question. We have 35 sites across the globe. Does each site need a Verizon network connection? That is the recommended design.
Q: Where are Verizon SIP trunks hosted? The SIP trunking is part of UCCaaS and is hosted in the Verizon Data Center. Q: Will this be a consolidated SIP solution at the CO, or will the customer have the option to use existing traditional PRIs at locations? This is a consolidated SIP solution. Verizon s IP trunking service can provide significant benefits compared to traditional PRIs. Q: What about add-ons such as Calabrio Quality Management and Singlewire InformaCast? We use these today also. You may continue to use these applications. Q: Can you deploy a remote Cisco Unified Communications Manager subscriber on- premise? Thus having one or more Cisco Unified Communications Manager subs on-premise and one or more Cisco Unified Communications Manager subs in the cloud. This is not standard in the UCCaaS offering, but is technically feasible and is supported as a custom offering. Q: How about integration with external Music on Hold (Muzak)? This can be supported and connected at the local gateway on-premise. Q: You mentioned salesforce.com integration to UCCaaS, but what about in-house CRM - is there a way to integrate them with UCCaaS? Yes, via Cisco Jabber SDK and third party development. Q: I have a hosted application served by a different carrier via SIP trunks. Do you support peer-topeer SIP transmission between carriers? This would be a custom solution and would go through a proof-of-concept first, via professional services integration and testing.
Q: We have Microsoft Lync already deployed to over 3000+ users, including 500 Enterprise Voice. Can we continue to use our Polycom CX600 Desktop Phones with UCCaaS? You can continue to use the CX600 on Lync and trunk Lync and UCCaaS together. 2012 Verizon. All Rights Reserved.
