TITLE: MULTIPLE NATIONAL INDIVIDUAL STANDING OFFERS FOR CHEMICAL RESIDUE TESTING IN AND ON FOOD PRODUCTS FOR THE CANADIAN FOOD INSPECTION AGENCY The purpose of this amendment is to amend the solicitation document as detailed below, and to amend Attachment A - Questions and Answers to respond to additional questions received by offerors. 1. AT PART 4 - EVALUATION PROCEDURES AND BASIS OF SELECTION, 1.1.1 MANDATORY TECHNICAL CRITERIA, TABLE 1, PAGE 18 OF 124: ARSENIC SPEC The SOP must provide for a protease digestion for all samples other than juices. The SOP must include a control sample or certified reference material for each batch analysed. The resolution of Standard 2 peaks of AsC and AsB as per the reference method (0.001 ng/ml AsC; 0.0005 ng/ml AsB) must have a resolution of 0.9 or greater. ARSENIC SPEC The SOP must provide for a protease digestion for all samples other than juices. The SOP must include a control sample or certified reference material for each batch analysed. The resolution of Standard 2 peaks of AsC and AsB as per the reference method (1 ng/ml AsC; 0.5 ng/ml AsB) must have a resolution of 0.9 or greater. Page 2 of 5
2. AT REQUIREMENT, ANNEX A, APPENDIX 1 TO ANNEX A, CHEMICAL RESIDUES OF INTEREST TO CFIA PAGE 69 OF 124: MACROLIDE S / LINCOSAMID ES CFIA Saskatoon CVDR- 3029.04 Sample is made basic and extracted with ethyl acetate. Analytes are then partitioned into an acidic buffer and further cleaned up by extraction of the buffer solution with an organic solvent. The buffer is then made basic and analytes are re-extracted into ethyl acetate, evaporated to dryness, redissolved in mobile phase, and analyzed by HPLC/MS. Desmycosin Neospiramycin CP-60,300 expressed as Tulathromycin equivalents Gamithromycin Tildipirosin Tylvalosin Optional for Dairy, Egg, honey 0.005 0.01 Confirmation using an acceptable MS technique is required. See Tasks/ Specification s 0.01 0.01 120 The ANALYTE is to be reported as Macrolides/Lincosa mide Screen and the AMOUNT is to be 0 for a negative and a 1 for a positive for one or more of the analytes. In the event of a positive, the analyte(s) found to be positive is/are to be reported as a separate entry and the amount as the actual value confirmed, in µg/g. 4. AT ATTACHMENT A - QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS, INSERT THE FOLLOWING QUESTION AND ANSWER: Q6. With respect to Arsenic Species, Mandatory Criteria, Table 1 (pg 18 of 124) indicates that "the resolution of Standard 2 peaks of AsC and AsB as per the reference method (0.001 ng/ml AsC; 0.0005 ng/ml AsB) must have a resolution of 0.9 or greater". Appendix 1 to Annex A, Chemical Residues of Interest to CFIA (pg 84 of 124) indicates under the Mandatory Criteria of Arsenic Species that the resolution of Standard 2 peaks of AsC and AsB as per the reference method (0.1 ng/ml AsC; 0.05 ng/ml AsB) must have a resolution of 0.9 or greater. However, the Standard 2 concentrations of the two analytes AsC and AsB in the reference method (CFIA_ACIA #5210712), Table 2, page 18 are 1.0 ng/ml AsC and 0.5 ng/ml AsB. Could you please clarify what concentration is to be used? A6. The concentration to be used is 1 ng/ml AsC; 0.5 ng/ml AsB. ALL OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS REMAIN UNCHANGED Page 5 of 5
