Master of Education The Master of Education is a postgraduate course consisting of 36 credit points. Students complete core studies that include a research project and a major in a chosen area. The course provides students with extended knowledge and skills in Education. The Master of Education provides both teachers and graduates from non-teaching backgrounds with the opportunity to further their qualifications for professional development. This course does not lead to teacher registration. Master of Education (Leadership and Management) Career prospects This course does not lead to teacher registration but teachers will be able to draw on the extended knowledge and skills offered in the course to further their careers by taking on leadership and management roles. The course is designed for those who wish to pursue professional careers in Counselling as well as those who would like to develop highly effective interpersonal skills at work generally. The course intake is likely to be diverse and students may represent a range of working backgrounds and disciplines, with a shared goal of refining their skills of communication and applying such insights gained within their own role and work settings. This course is accredited by the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) in Australia and in Singapore by the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC), giving graduates the ability to pursue careers in both countries as well as internationally. Practicum consists of 130 hours of practice (100 hours minimum face-to-face counselling) over a period of 2 trimesters. Students take the responsibility for sourcing their own practicum placements.
