GSM s various platforms are utilized for communication with the Vehicles, Assets and downloading of various data s. These platforms include; 1. SMS (Short Messaging Service) 2. GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) 3. Voice Communication Our BF-16 Tracking Unit is state of the art equipment marketed all over Pakistan. Black Box (Pvt.) Limited is the only company in Pakistan, which uses all three platforms for tracking and facilitation of various services to our valued clients. The use of multiple GSM platforms facilitates prompt response from the vehicle and also provides a back up support. SMS (Short Messaging Service): SMS is the platform wherein small packets of data are transferred back and forth. This is a basic service provided by mobile phone service providers and is used to transmit a request to the BF-16 TRACKING UNIT for location / status of the vehicle. The information received is catered as per defined SOPs. With the help of SMS, only the most recent or current location of a vehicle is determined with a time laps. 12

Black Box (Pvt.) Limited (BF-16 TRACKING UNIT) uses both SMS and GPRS platforms to get the location of a vehicle and other surveillance data. It means BF-16 TRACKING UNIT can communicate by using both the platforms i.e., by sending an SMS to update the location or by sending a certain volume of bundled data through GPRS which enables the control room to monitor vehicular movement every 3 to 5 seconds and visualize the same on monitors in continuity. Our product is sold with one-year complete replacement and free service warranty. Technical services will remain available after the end of warranty period at very nominal service charge. We have an Operations Department responsible for 24-Hours customer service. Query: How does your system works (Give Brief)? Reply: Black Box (Pvt.) Limited locates the vehicle with the help of two platforms. 1) GPS 2) GSM 1) GPS stands for Geo-Positioning Satellite Systems This is a cluster of 24 satellites stations in a Geo- stationary orbit around the Earth (Globe). When Black Box (Pvt.) Limited BF -16 TRACKING UNIT is installed and gets connected with a power source, it starts receiving beacon / coordinates from 7-8 GPS satellites. This data is processed by the BF-16 TRACKING UNIT and is saved within the memory of the BF-16 TRACKING UNIT. 2) GSM stands for Global System of Mobile Communication. This platform is provided by the mobile telephone industry of the country. 14
How the system works Scenario 1: 1) Vehicle is snatched under coercion and owner/occupant is asked to leave the vehicle. The owner immediately gives a distress call to control room of Black Box (Pvt.) Limited. Base attendant send a command to BF-16 TRACKING UNIT installed in the vehicle to immobilize (Kill the engine) and law enforcement agencies is dispatched to the location for possession of vehicle. Operation The BF-16 TRACKING UNIT after having received the get position command from control room synchronize its location, distance to each satellite and transit time from the orbiting GPS satellite. Then BF-16 TRACKING UNIT process this data to pin point the longitude and latitude of a vehicle which is then communicated to Black Box (Pvt.) Limited control room for further processing and plotting on a digitized map of the area. Hence the precise location of the vehicle is determined and recovery of the vehicle is carried out with the help of Law enforcing agencies. Scenario 2: If a vehicle is stolen from parking area, and is driven out of the city limits. Operation Black Box (Pvt.) Limited BF-16 TRACKING UNIT is capable of drawing numerals electronic Geo-fences, to limit the movement of the vehicle. In above scenario whenever the car-snatchers tries to flee the city limits, a breach of Geo-fence triggers the Automatic killing of vehicle's engine, hence the vehicle is immobilized and its location is immediately communicated to the control room where the recovery procedures are carried out. 15

In areas where GSM network is not available Black Box (Pvt.) Limited BF-16 TRACKING UNIT is capable of storing the log of movement and occurrences and upon re-entry into GSM coverage area it immediately transmits the historical data to server and update its location, occurrence i.e. Ignition on/off, Speed, Harsh breaking, fuel pilferage, opening of delivery valve etc. Query: What is your back up support arrangement including system as well as personnel? Reply: Black Box (Pvt.) Limited operations are dependent upon provision of GSM facility. Black Box (Pvt.) Limited uses the facilities of service providers such as,ufone and Telenor and has agreement with them. Failure of these four service providers has not been reported as yet & we have not come across to any technical difficulties with them. We are maintaining a substantial stock of BF-16 TRACKING UNIT at all times. Beside professionals, we have 20 Installers deployed for speedy Installation at 15 installation bays, 20 operation officers along with supervisors are deployed in three shifts at control room. Eight MTUs cars equipped with tracker and wireless communicators are at standby round the clock for recoveries and support. M.I.S: Black Box (Pvt.) Limited M.I.S is managed by highly qualified personnel; their job is to design software for recording of all data related with the vehicle movements, locations and web access.
