10 How does GPS Vehicle Tracking System work? The GPS antenna collects the GPS data and feeds it to the tracking unit. The unit does some processing of events and speeds. Additionally, the GPS vehicle tracking unit has a wireless modem inside, similar to ones found in cell phones. This modem is used to communicate with Global Tracking Systems. The GPS data is sent directly from the vehicle's unit to SAMA servers, where we process the information for the user. All of this happens in real-time. SAMA Telecom 10

16 System functions Real-time & live monitoring: Admin user can select vehicles one by one, group, or all cars, demand vehicle terminal report, the info is as a pre-settled time interval, to realize the real-time monitoring of the vehicles continuously, then user can monitor and see live the vehicle on the main map. History tracking and track replay: The track history is stored on server for each car, after downloading the data in time sessions, you can replay the tracing point of the vehicles on the main map, and see its historical track and stop. Over speed alarm: System admin user can set a maximum speed and then send it to terminal, then keep the data to the device. Alarm will be sent once the speed is over than the one settled by admin user, and the alarm will be sent to system user via pop up massage, , and SMS. SAMA Telecom 16

17 Geo-fence zones alarm: System admin user can set certain district - Geo-fence zones- (circular, polygon, rectangular) by vehicles, the alarm will be sent if the vehicle crosses the settled district or gets in /out this zone. The system will record the alarm data and notifies the user via pop up massage, , & SMS. SOS alarm: The vehicle terminal is equipped with urgent alarm button; the driver can press the button to ask for help, by SMS that will be sent from the device as well as an notification from the system in situations of robbery or any other emergency case. Enable/disable engine or fuel remotely: The vehicle terminal can be equipped with fuel/ electricity cut-off equipment; admin user can send fuel/electricity cut-off command to the vehicle after the urgent case is received, and the vehicle will fulfil the order to cut off the fuel or electricity. 18 Reports generated by the system SAMA Tracking System generates reports summarizing information needed to manage and control a vehicle. All reports: Could be exported to excel file, Microsoft word or HTML and some of them to KLM. Could be run by day, by week, by month and by custom period of time. 20 Alarms notification by system Emergency alarm report: The system will send an or SMS when driver presses emergency key. Over speed alarm: The system will send an or SMS when vehicle exceeds the speed limit. Main power off alarm report: The system will send an or SMS when the device is removed from the main power supply (vehicle battery), in case of theft or tampering by the driver. Fuel cut alarm report: The system will send an in case of cutting off the fuel from the vehicle by the system user/admin. Power cut alarm report: The system will send an in case of cutting off power from the vehicle by the system user/admin. Geo-fence alarm report: The system will send an if the vehicle gets in / out of the geographical area specified by the user/admin of the system. SAMA Telecom 20

21 Maintenance & fuel consumption module Admin user can also use maintenance and fuel consumption module to enter all vehicles maintains and fuel invoices, in order to organize and know the vehicle costs, all data related to the vehicles cost will be stored in the system database and it will be displayed when requested by user via specific report. After the user enters the refuel invoices, which includes the fuel volume and price, the system by time can calculate the estimated fuel consumption rate (L/100KM) & (KM/20L) and the fuel cost for each vehicle, that which leads the finance people in the company to know the actual cost of running vehicles and help them to budget their cost.
