Matrix Technical Support Mailer 33 COSEC Integrate (Import from Active Directory) Dear Friends, This technical mailer will help you to understand the Integrate application which is available from COSEC V03R03 onwards. This is a powerful tool to integrate two different databases in real time (Automatic) as well as manually. One can install this application from COSEC Installation Setup. Import from Active Directory is supported from COSEC V03R04 onwards. Below mentioned are the steps for COSEC Integrate configuration Step 1: Open the COSEC Integrate application installed in your PC. You will find the following login page: Enter the password for logging in to the application. First time users need to set the password for using COSEC Integrate application. One should make sure that COSEC Integrate uses separate and independent password of its own, and that s why needs to be created. Step 2: One can set the parameters for configuration only when the service is stopped. So, click on stop service prior to configuration.

Step 3: Configuration part is essential to connect Active Directory server with COSEC Integrate either on the same or different Server. One needs to provide the login details of the Active Directory Login User for its successful connection. For this one needs to select the integration mode which means one can connect COSEC Integrate application with any one of the following databases/server (through COSEC Web API): 1.) Export to MS SQL Server 2.) Import from Active Directory 3.) Export to Postgre Server 4.) Export to Oracle Server

Step 4: Select Import from Active Directory and then edit it. One can find the following configurations to be specified.

Here, one needs to provide the database path i.e. localhost or the IP address of the Database server PC and credentials of COSEC Web URL, Username ( sa ) and Password (i.e. set for COSEC Web). After specifying all the parameters correctly, one can verify it by testing its Connection. Similarly one needs to provide the parameters for the Active Directory. Here, Active Directory parameters are Server i.e. Active Directory server path localhost or the IP address of the server. Port Number used for Active Directory services. Domain controller name created in the

server. Username (login user of the server PC with Active Directory) and Password (set for the login user). One can again verify the connectivity with Active Directory server by testing its connection. For e.g.: Server: 192.168.50.72 Port: 389 Domain: DC=support, DC=local Username: Administrator Password: matrix After successful connections, one need to save the settings.

Step 5: After the Server configuration settings, one needs to move to Active Directory configurations, where one may map the Active Directory fields with the COSEC fields. Step 6: One can select the appropriate Active Directory field.

Step 7: Accordingly, one may select the appropriate COSEC Field to be mapped with Active Directory field. Step 8: After selecting appropriate fields, one simply needs to add it in the list.

Similarly, one may add/clear each and every field. Step 9: After mapping the fields, one needs to save the page. There are two options for importing the data from Active Directory Server to COSEC Database. Manual Transfer Automatic Transfer (Scheduler) Manual transfer: After saving the page, one can find the option of Manual transfer, in which one needs to select any of the All/Recently added or Updated/Custom data option to be imported from Active Directory server. After that one needs to process the data.

Automatic Transfer (Schedule): In Schedule Tab (Before saving the configuration), one needs to activate the scheduler and specify the Update interval (in seconds).

Final Step: After successful configuration, one needs to start the service for its operation. Starting the service means that the data from the Active Directory server will be updated to the COSEC Database according to the time interval specified in the schedule.
