1 Alert Notification of Critical Results (ANCR) Public Domain Deployment Instructions Server Prerequisites Internet Information Server (IIS). It may be enabled in Windows Features (see Enabling IIS section). Installer will check this prerequisite and will fail if it s not enabled. Microsoft SQL Server, version 2005 or above (Express edition is acceptable). SQL Server may be installed on the same server as ANCR, or on any other server that is accessible from the web tier. User installing ANCR should have privileges to create databases in the SQL Server. Should have at least one domain (or local) account who as access to the database (it could be the same account as installing user). OPTIONAL Install Item: The device you are installing ANCR on should be a member of Active Directory, and the user that performs the installation should be a Domain User. This is only required when you are installing ANCR in Active Directory integrated mode. OPTIONAL Install Item: You should have at least one domain (or local) account that has at least read only access to Active Directory (it could be the same account as installing user). This is only required when you are installing ANCR in Active Directory integrated mode. You should have access to an SMTP server (local or remote) in order to send out notifications via .

2 Installation steps 1. Double click on ANCR.msi, downloaded from 2. Click on Next on the Welcome Screen to proceed with installation. 3. Configure Destination folder and datbase settings: a. Install ANCR To: destination will contain web site and ANCR windows Service. b. Install database to following Micrsoft SQL Server: Specify datbase server name. If a named instance is used, specify in form of SQLHOST\INSTANCENAME c. Database name (if it iis not exists it would be created): usually named ANCR 4. Optional: Configure LDAP Settings.

3 Configure Active Directory Integration. Specify LDAP path for importing users (typically in the form LDAP://CN=Users,DC=myorg,DC=com; you may also restrict search to some specific container for example, LDAP://CN=Users,OU=department,DC=myorg,DC=com). Specify the user with access to Active Directory (do not specify the domain current will be used). If you skip Active Directory integration, you will be required to create all users directly in ANCR. 5. Optional: SMTP Settings Configure SMTP settings. If you have a locally installed SMTP server, you may use localhost as SMTP Server name. Leave SMTP username and password blank if the SMTP server does not require authentication. 4 7. IIS Settings: Configure IIS related settings to setup the web tier. Use FQDN (fully qualified domain name) to specify the hostname (such as ancr.yourorganization.com). Users will access ANCR via this hostname. Specify user credentials for the ANCR application pool. This user will also be used to access the database and run ANCR Windows Service. Do not specify domain current will be used.

6 Post Install configuration After installation, you may open ANCR with most web browsers using the hostname specified during the IIS Configuration step. When logging for the first time, use Outside Provider authentication method; username=root, password=password. There are two more users set up initially: ref and rad with the default password=password. You may change passwords for all of these users after you login as root. You may also disable ANCR password for them, switching to Active Directory user mapping instead. Level configuration Use the Manage >Levels screen to configure alert levels. Message Templates Message templates are located in web\templates folder under ANCR main folder. You may configure them using any text editor, like Notepad.
