General Information Welcome to the Gold Coast Training College and to your course. The RPL course for Certificate III Security Operations provides you with a nationally recognised qualification. Our course has been designed to be user friendly and examples of evidence are continually provided throughout the course to assist you complete your qualification as quickly as possible. Whilst there is no timeframe for completion it is recommended that you complete your RPL within one year of enrolment. The VET Quality Framework enables individuals to pursue a number of pathways for gaining qualifications. These may include: Formal Training through a Registered Training Organisation This might include a number of delivery methods including self paced instruction, trainer led training, and computer aided instruction or combinations of these and other training methods. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Recognition of Current Competencies (RCC) Through an assessment process, individuals provide evidence of their prior learning or current competence against relevant competency standards. Recognition of prior learning and recognition of current competencies must be completed through a Registered Training Organisation to gain a nationally recognised qualification. Informal training This may include mentoring, shadowing, coaching and learning on the job. This document, the Certificate III Security Operations CPP30411 Evidence Matrix and Collation document provides you with the information required to collate and submit evidence for your RPL Assessment. Please ensure all evidences are numbered in both this document and on the top left of all documents being provided. The information required is Evidence number and Unit Code on each piece of evidence submitted. You may use the same piece of evidence on multiple assessments, however they must all be identified. Documents not identified with evidence number or unit will not be considered in the assessment process. Evidence Evidence is verbal, written or other information which is collected to support an individual s claim of competency. Students are advised that an individual piece of evidence, may be used or more than one occasion during the RPL process. copies of hazard reports written You will also need to provide contact details for two referees who can confirm your industry skills in context and over time. To have skills formally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework, you must ensure that your skills meet industry standards. Instructions on how to complete this evidence document. 1. Each unit of competence requires students to provide evidence that meets the criteria of the unit. The criteria is determined by Industry Skills Councils who are responsible for updating and endorsing training packages every three years. You will be provided with the formal training materials for each unit which provides information on the national standard and evidence required. 2. Using the templates provided for each unit, look at work samples you have or other documents that may be used to demonstrate you are able to competently perform the task. Remember this is Certificate III qualification and it is expected that to be working at this level you are not under supervision and maybe supervising others in the workplace. 3. As you gather your evidences, ensure that you number them on the template and on the actual evidence as you will be required to upload or post copies of your evidences to the Gold Coast Training College. Evidences may be used more than once during this assessment. 4. On each piece of evidence you are also required to write the unit of competence code next to the evidence number. For Example a report may be used as Evidence 1 CPPSEC3005A. Which is the prepare and present security documentation and reports unit. 5. Once all evidence has been collated please contact your trainer and have your work reviewed prior to final submission. Whilst there is no time frame for completion of this course, students are provided with two opportunities to be assessed as competent. No refunds are provided for students who are deemed Not Yet Competent after two attempts of assessment. 6. Once you material has been reviewed by your trainer and you are happy for the assessment to go ahead, your evidences will be assessed and third party referees contacted. 7. Upon completion of the assessment you will be advised of the outcome and any gap training that may be required. 8.
