With over 50 Years of experience in mining, stripping, processing & rehabilitation DFA is able to transfer that knowledge/expertise among other operating sites such as OPQ to ensure optimal value to the operation (Cost/Safety), community as well as the end user Stripping The high quality bedrock extracted from quarries is covered with a layer of topsoil, overburden & rock rubble Equipment removes overburden & trucks haul the material to areas where it is used to build berms around the site, or placed to create various landforms as part of the progressive rehabilitation plan Drilling Once overburden has been removed, holes are drilled in the rock to hold an explosive charge. The drill holes are loaded with explosives Blasting A single blast produces thousands of tonnes of shot rock on the floor of the quarry. Drilling & blasting activities are conducted by fully qualified and registered professionals. Processing A front-end loader takes the shot rock & feeds the primary crusher, which takes just a few minutes to crush each bucket load & reduce it in size 4
