YLCC Inc. Youth Leadership Camps Canada Inc. is the premier provider of the finest leadership development programs in the camping industry. Our success in summer camps and leadership development has led us to grow into 2 fully operational sites that operate 3 seasons a year. Our Orillia site is nestled on the shores of Lake Simcoe just 60 minutes north of Toronto has been in operation since 2004. Our newer Pigeon Lake site is located in Ennismore just 20 minutes Northwest of Peterborough has been in operation since 2009. Both sites offer many interesting and unique positions. Pigeon Lake Program Positions YLCC Pigeon Lake will be operating as a Leadership Training Centre from Late April Late October. The centre is looking to fill program positions for spring, summer, and fall. Preference is given to those available to work all 3 seasons, but options exist to work any of the 3 seasons or 2 of the 3 seasons. Assistant LTC Director (1 position) Please read description below. Program Specialist (6-8 positions) Please read description below. Spring and Fall Positions Lake Simcoe During the Spring and Fall YLCC Lake Simcoe operates its site used for summer camp as Leadership Training Centres. The Leadership Training Centre (LTC) offers programs and retreats for groups as small as 15 and as large as 300, these programs run from 1-3+ days in length and focus on team building and leadership development. Typically schools, community groups, sports teams, and businesses use these programs. Salary: At Youth Leadership Camps Canada we provide competitive wages based on industry standards. Pay is determined by experience, certifications and availability. Room and board is provided for all staff. If you are available before the indicated start date please indicate on your application. Assistant LTC Director The Assistant LTC Director reports to the Director of the Leadership Training Centre and is responsible for ensuring that program is being delivered efficiently and consistently meeting the standards of the Leadership Training Centre, conduct regular inventory of program supplies, host all welcome programs for guests visiting, liaison between retreat advisors and the LTC Director, assist Program Specialists wherever possible, facilitating LTC programming when required, liaison between retreat advisors and kitchen to ensure client meals are timed and planned appropriately, host all dining room activity, and deliver all follow up material to each client. The Assistant LTC Director s contract will be 3 seasons. Requirements: Outdoor Education, Camp or related experience, First Aid, CPR, and a Criminal Record Check. Suggested: NLS, ropes experience, facilitation experience, and an interest in leadership. Spring Program Specialist April 22 June 19 Lake Simcoe (14-16positions) Fall Program Specialist Sept 3 Late Oct Lake Simcoe (14-16 positions) Program Specialists are facilitators for all day and residential LTC retreats that run at the YLCC Leadership Training Centre. Their responsibilities include preparation, planning and delivery of the YLCC Leadership program. This position is responsible for being on the front line and serving as instructors for all programs that run at the LTC during the spring and fall season, maintaining the site for the day-to-day operation of the residential facility, as well as take part in opening and closing each resource area for the season. All staff will participate in on-site training in high and low ropes facilitation, waterfront activities, leadership development programs and outdoor pursuits. You can look forward to a hands-on outdoor working environment, filled with plenty of opportunity for developing many dynamic new skills, and connecting and networking with many new and interesting people. Ideally a Spring Program Specialist will seek a summer position. Suggested: NLS, ropes experience, facilitation experience, and an interest in leadership. YLCC Summer Camp Positions Lake Simcoe Description: YLCC Inc. strives to provide the best leadership and personal development through cutting edge teaching techniques. We strive to not only give campers the skills to win at life through our leadership programs, but we also want each camper to enjoy the outdoors, play in the water, laugh, make life long friendships and enjoy that classic camp experience this summer. Room and board is provided for all staff. All summer camp positions run from June 20 Sept 3 with preference given to staff who work either or both shoulder seasons (Spring & Fall)

Activities Director (1 position) The Activities Director is responsible for planning and executing all traditional daily activities and evening program for the entire camp. Working with the Camp Director this position is responsible for preparing and implementing: all of YLCC s house challenges, evening activities, closing and opening ceremonies, award ceremonies, and assisting with camp registration and departure day activities. This position may assist other directors or specialists with the daily operation of summer camp. Ideally the Activities Director will hold both a spring and summer position. Suggested: High ropes experience, watercraft experience, NLS, leadership program planning and facilitation experience and an interest in leadership. Tripping and Initiative Program Director (1 position) The Tripping and Initiative Program Director acts as an assistant counseling manager and curriculum officer responsible for maintaining the leadership integrity of our initiative programs (Explorer, Navigator, and Outtripper) that have campers between grades 7-12. This position will be responsible for assisting in program development, staff training and counsellor coaching relevant to the initiative programs. The Tripping and Initiative Director is also responsible for planning, implementing and managing all aspects of each out trip including food preparation and ordering, budgeting, equipment preparation and maintenance and the overall safety of all campers and staff on trip. This position requires outdoor living skills, experience and expertise in out tripping. Ideally the Tripping and Initiative Director will hold a spring and summer position. Requirements: YLCC summer initiative programs experience, First Aid, CPR, Criminal Record Check, a valid drivers license, ORCKA 1 and 2, out tripping experience, and a Watercraft operator s license Suggested: Facilitation experience, organizational skills, high ropes experience, NLS, program planning, watercraft operators license, maturity and a keen interest in leadership. Watercraft Specialist (1 position) The Watercraft Specialist is responsible for facilitating and supervising waterfront programming at YLCC. This person works directly with the Waterfront Director and is responsible for facilitating all watercraft activities (canoeing, kayaking), ensuring the highest standards of safety are consistently being met. The duties of the Watercraft Specialist include: maintaining a clean and organized waterfront area, providing boating instruction and activities, life guarding and performing other assigned tasks to assist the YLCC staff in maintaining the facility. Requirements: Watercraft instructional experience, NLS, First Aid, CPR, and a Criminal Record Check. Suggested: Watercraft operators license, tripping experience, ORCKA Certification. Lifeguards (5 positions) YLCC Lifeguards are responsible for facilitating and supervising waterfront programming at YLCC. Lifeguards will work directly with the Waterfront Director and is responsible for facilitating all aquatic activities, ensuring the highest standards of safety are consistently being met. The duties of a Lifeguard include: maintaining a clean and organized waterfront area, life guarding and performing other assigned tasks to assist the YLCC staff in maintaining the facility. Requirements: NLS, First Aid, CPR, and a Criminal Record Check. Suggested: Watercraft experience, watercraft operators license, Swim Instructors Certificate. High Ropes Director (1 position) The High Ropes Director is responsible for facilitating and supervising all high ropes and climbing wall programming at YLCC. Working with the Camp Director this position is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety are being met, working with each program area head to schedule all programs into the high ropes course, facilitating and supervising the facilitation of all activities in the challenge course or climbing wall, and maintaining a clean and organized climbing area. The High Ropes Director may occasionally assist other directors or specialists with daily operation of summer camp. Ideally the High Ropes Director will hold a spring and summer position. Requirements: Ropes experience, Facilitation experience First Aid, CPR, and a Criminal Record Check. Suggested: High Ropes Instructor Level 1 or 2 Waterfront Director (1 position) The Waterfront Director is responsible for the safety and supervision of all activities on the waterfront at YLCC. This position is responsible for managing and maintaining an orderly waterfront. The duties of the Waterfront Director may include: teaching swimming or boating lessons, facilitating YLCC water programs, lifeguarding, maintaining an effective waterfront log, performing an inventory of watercraft and equipment, as well as supervising and scheduling the waterfront area and waterfront staff. Ideally the Waterfront Director would hold both a spring and summer position. Requirements: Watercraft Experience, Watercraft Operator s License, NLS, First Aid, CPR, and a Criminal Record Check. Suggested: Swim Instructor s Certificate, Management experience.

Arts and Crafts Specialist (1 position) The Arts and Crafts Specialist is responsible for planning and facilitating all arts and crafts sessions for the entire camp. This position is responsible for ordering and organizing all arts and crafts supplies in their station, for working closely with the Camp Director to ensure a budget is used effectively, for maintaining and a clean and organized craft area, and performing other assigned tasks to assist the YLCC staff in maintaining the facility. The Arts and Crafts Specialist may occasionally assist other directors or specialists with daily operation of summer camp. Suggested: Experience planning and facilitating arts and crafts projects and assignments. Alpha and Excellence Area Head (1 position) The Alpha/Excellence Area Head is responsible for maintaining the leadership integrity of our Alpha (gr. 7-10) and Excellence (gr.10-12) programs. Working with the Camp Director this position is responsible for setting the program curriculum, scheduling programs with assistance from other departments, assisting in program development, training staff in their programs, assisting with high ropes and waterfront activities, assisting with camper issues, and coaching Alpha/Excellence counsellors throughout the summer. Requirements: YLCC summer camp or related experience, First Aid, CPR, and a Criminal Record Check. Suggested: Watercraft experience, high ropes experience, NLS, program planning and facilitation experience, and an interest in leadership. Leadership Discovery Area Head (1 position) The Leadership Discovery Area Head is responsible for maintaining the leadership integrity of our Discovery program (gr. 2-6). Working with the Camp Director this position is responsible for setting program curriculum, scheduling programs with assistance from other departments, assisting in program development, training staff in their programs, assisting with high ropes and waterfront activities, assisting with camper issues, and coaching Discovery counsellors throughout the summer. Requirements: YLCC summer camp or related experience, First Aid, CPR, and a Criminal Record Check. Suggested: High ropes experience, watercraft experience, NLS, childcare experience, program planning and facilitation experience and an interest in leadership. Initiatives Counsellors (6 Positions) The Initiatives Counsellors are responsible for preparing and delivering leadership curriculum for the Explorer (gr. 7-8), Navigator (gr. 9-10), and Outtripper (gr. 10-12) programs including the out trip that accompanies each program. These counsellors will be responsible for counselling their respective group all day, following YLCC curriculum, being responsible for the well being of their campers, creating a positive and enjoyable environment for their campers and the entire camp, and implementing and managing all aspects of your program s out trip (food preparation, guiding, and safety). Counsellors are also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of their cabins and the direction of their cabin campers. This position requires outdoor living skills, and experience in out tripping. Please specify which program/age group for which you wish to apply. Requirements: YLCC out tripping or related experience, First Aid, CPR, and a Criminal Record Check. Suggested: NLS, ORCKA certification, Wilderness First Aid, facilitation experience, organizational skills, independence, and an interest in leadership. Alpha and Excellence Counsellors (5 positions) The Alpha Counsellors are responsible for preparing and delivering leadership curriculum for the Junior (gr. 7-8) and Intermediate (gr. 9-10) programs. The Excellence Counsellors are responsible for preparing and delivering leadership curriculum for the Leader-In-Training (gr.10-12) and Senior Adventurer (gr. 10-12) programs. These counsellors will be responsible for counselling their respective group all day, following YLCC curriculum, being responsible for the well being of their campers, creating a positive and enjoyable environment for their campers and the entire camp, and for maintaining the cleanliness of their cabins and the direction of their cabin campers. Requirements: First Aid, CPR, And Criminal Record Check Suggested: Watercraft experience, high ropes experience, facilitation experience, childcare experience, and an interest in leadership. Leadership Discovery Counsellors (4 positions) The Leadership Discovery Counsellors are responsible for preparing and delivering leadership curriculum for the Leadership Discovery (gr. 2-6) program. These counsellors will be responsible for counselling their respective group all day, following YLCC curriculum, being responsible for the well being of their campers, creating a positive and enjoyable environment for their campers and the entire camp, and for maintaining the cleanliness of their cabins and the direction of their cabin campers. Suggested: Watercraft experience, high ropes experience, childcare experience and an interest in leadership.

Day Camp Counsellors (6-8 positions) Day camp counsellors are responsible for facilitating all day camp programs and working directly with the day campers. Reporting to the Day Camp Director and receiving assistance from the Day Camp Area Head, the counsellors are responsible for providing quality programming and supervision to campers (gr. K-3), creating a positive and enjoyable environment for their campers, following YLCC curriculum, being responsible for the well being of their campers, and providing a safe and fun atmosphere. Counsellors program responsibilities include outdoor pursuits, high ropes facilitation, waterfront facilitation, electives, setting leadership examples, and general maintenance of day camp programming areas. These positions are nonresidential and Day Camp Counsellors are required to work Monday to Friday and Thursday nights. Suggested: Watercraft experience, high ropes experience, childcare experience and an interest in leadership and being outdoors.
