1 Acton Bowen Outreach Internship Application Thank you for showing interest in participating in the Acton Bowen Outreach internship program! We are searching for servant-hearted and mature male candidates who sense God s call on their life to serve in full time ministry to work alongside our ABO Staff. It is important that you read through all of the information in the application in order to fully understand what would be expected of you in the program and so that you are able to accurately and concisely answer all of the questions. The ABO summer internship program is designed to be an exciting and hands-on experience in which participants commit to spending 6 weeks out of the summer to serve along side Acton and camp directors and grow in their relationship with Christ. All interns will be housed in separate locations from the rest of the campers and will be responsible for assisting the Summer Staff in various responsibilities throughout the days and weeks of camp.

2 Internship FAQ What is the age requirement? In order to participate in the internship program, applicants must be completing either their Sophomore, Junior, or Senior of High School. How many program participants are accepted? Between 4 and 8. What will my daily responsibilities look like? The daily responsibilities for interns include but are not limited to: assisting staff with registration, assisting staff with running daily activities, setting up for events, maintaining the camp campus, working with full-time staff on summer tasks, greeting campers before services, etc. What is the goal of this program? While the presence of interns would significantly help our summer camps to run more smoothly, the ultimate goal of the internship program is to disciple high school students and provide a unique environment of spiritual growth. What will my interaction with staff look like? Interns are encouraged to build relationships with other staff during open time on the weekends and while assisting staff during the week. While there are no required times of relationship building between the ABO staff, Camp Directors and Summer Camp Staff/counselors, it will be encouraged and expected. What will my interaction with campers look like? Limited. The internship program is designed to facilitate personal spiritual growth and to provide assistance to Summer Staff. It is not for the purpose of relationship building with other campers. Camper/intern interaction will be monitored. When can I turn in my application? All applications must be turned in by or before January 31st, However, early applications are encouraged. What will the selection/interviewing process look like? You may or may not be called with additional questions. You will receive a letter by March 15, 2015 letting you know if you have been accepted.

3 Where are the 2015 Summer Camps? This year camps will be in Panama City Beach Florida (3), Tall Timbers, LA (1), Dry Creek LA (2), and Ponderosa, CO (2). Do I need to be at camp for the entire summer? Yes. Most camps are Monday through Friday. And weekends are used for travel and/or assisting Acton at another speaking engagement (Sundays etc). How much does the Internship program cost? The total cost to participate in the internship program is $1500. That includes meals during the week (Sunday dinner through Friday lunch), t-shirts, housing, and all other expenses. The only other expenses would be eating out on the weekends and any other non-mandatory activities taking place on the weekends. You may raise support for this amount. What if my parents have more questions? Every detail of the internship program can be made available to parents. If any parent of a Internship applicant would like more information, please call the ABO Ministries office. What are the dates for Summer Camp? 4 Application Directions 1. Complete the application in full by typing your response to all questions. 2. Your application is not valid unless typed. 3. Answer honestly - all applications are kept confidential. 4. Mail 2 referral letters (new applicants only): Youth Pastor Parent/Guardian Teacher or Coach (See reference forms at the end of application) The reference should place the letter in an envelope and seal it. Ask them to initial to ensure confidentiality. We will not accept references that have been tampered with or opened. Have parents sign the Parental Consent/Medical Relaease form. 7. a high-resolution photo of just your face to [email protected] when you send your application with subject line: Internship Picture These photos will be used in name badges and/or booklets, so be sure that you are clearly identifiable and that the picture is of yourself and yourself only. 8. Once you have all of these items completed, other than the reference forms which will be mailed by your references, scan and them to [email protected]. *Reminder: the deadline for all applications is January 31, 2015.

I want to build relationships with fellow staff members. I desire to grow in my relationship with Jesus while serving others. I donʼt have any other plans and this sparked my interest.
