Enterprise Vault Instructions for Saving Items from an archive restored to a secondary mailbox in Microsoft Outlook The following instructions were created using Microsoft Outlook 2013 on a Windows 7 computer. Although this process should work using other versions of Microsoft Office or operating systems the exact steps may have slight differences. Prior to proceeding with these directions submit a request to ITSHelp@odu.edu to have your archive exported to a secondary mailbox. Accessing the Secondary Mailbox from the Restored Archive 1. In Outlook click on File then click on Add Account. 2. On the Add New Account window, enter in the name of the archive account, this will be provided in the ITS ticket once the archive is exported. It will be in the form of archive##@odu.edu for example archive15@odu.edu. Enter this email address on the Your Name field, the email address of the shared email account on the E-mail Address field (archive##@odu.edu), and on the password lines, enter in your ODU Faculty / Staff email account password (the same as your MIDAS password). Then click Next.

3. Outlook will then attempt to open up that shared email account using your logon credentials. If you have rights to the account, it will succeed. Then click Finish.

4. You will receive a warning that you must restart Outlook. Click OK on the warning, then close Outlook. 5. When you next start Outlook, the shared email account will be opened, and it will be displayed on the left panel where it shows your folders. You may need to scroll all the way down to see it.

Moving Messages in Bulk from the Secondary Mailbox to the Primary Exchange Mailbox Note: Prior to moving messages from the secondary mailbox containing the restored archive to the primary Exchange mailbox please be advised moving all messages while possible is not recommended, in most cases there will be items that are unnecessary or were deleted years ago. Moving the entire secondary mailbox to the primary mailbox will make organizing your mailbox difficult in the future. Moving Folders from the Secondary Mailbox to the Primary Exchange Mailbox 1. The secondary mailbox will have the same structure as the primary Exchange mailbox. Locate the folder containing emails you would like to move in the secondary mailbox by expanding the folders in the secondary mailbox. Select the folder you wish to move in the folder list on the left.

2. Right-click on the folder you wish to move and select Move Folder.

3. The Move Folder selection box will appear. Scroll to the top and select the folder you would like to move the archived items to in your primary Exchange mailbox, the mailbox identified by your email address. You may need to expand the folders by clicking on the arrow to the left of the folder name in order to move the archived items into a sub-folder.

4. Click OK. The items will be moved to your primary Exchange mailbox. Depending on how many items were selected this may take a few minutes. A progress indicator will appear giving an estimated time it will take to move the items. Once the move is complete the moved folder will no longer appear in the secondary mailbox but will appear in the primary mailbox. Moving Individual Emails from the Secondary Mailbox to the Primary Exchange Mailbox 1. The secondary mailbox will have the same structure as the primary Exchange mailbox. Locate the folder containing emails you would like to move in the secondary mailbox by expanding the folders in the secondary mailbox. Select the items or items you wish to move in the folder list on the left. Multiple items may be selected by holding down the Ctrl button and clicking on the mail items. A range of items may be selected by holding down Shift and clicking the first and last items in the range of emails.

2. Right click on one of the selected emails and click Move then Other Folder

Once the move is complete the moved emails will no longer appear in the secondary mailbox but will appear in the primary mailbox.
