REFUND POLICY for Community School classes There will be a $5.00 handling charge on all refunds except for those classes that do not carry. A full refund (minus $5.00) will be given during the first week when requested. For classes that have limited enrollment, there will be NO REFUND given unless the spot can be filled. All classes need a minimum number of students in order to justify the costs of carrying them. NO REFUND will be issued for those classes that do carry with a minimum enrollment. There will be no refunds during the second week or thereafter.

Class or Activity Descriptions PAYSON Community School WINTER 2015 1. Aerobics: Zumba, Pump, Rip Pump: Body Pump is a mixture of aerobics exercise with weight lifting training and cardio intervals. Zumba: Come join us for the latest in dance classes- Latin American hip hop. For all abilities. You re guaranteed to have fun! R.I.P.P.E.D. The One Stop Body Shock is a "Plateau Proof Fitness Formula" that helps you to create continuity, consistency and challenge in each and every R.I.P.P.E.D. class. It is Plateau Proof, because each component of the workout provides a uniquely different emphasis or system response, so your body never gets accustomed to the constantly changing format. Mondays is Pump; Tuesdays is Zumba; Wednesday s is Rip; Thursdays is Zumba. Lots of variety, and lots of fun. Drop-ins welcome $2.00 each time. 2. Art Class for Kids ages 7 to 11 PHS Room #C-15 Come enjoy learning about the basic concepts of art and exploring your imagination in this beginners kids class. In this 4 week course we will be learning about colors, value, how to draw from real life and also enjoy using our imaginations to create art. There is a $10 art supply fee. Class limit: 10 students 3. Art Class Oil Painting for Adults ages 18 to 102 PHS Room #C-15 Come take your first step to becoming an accomplished oil painter! This 6 week introductory class will take you through the basic techniques for oil painting. You will learn how to mix oil paints, keep clean brushes, create clean colors, and how to use mediums. You will learn how to create oil paintings understanding value, color mixing and good composition. Please email me for material list at kim.meade@gmail.com 4. Computers Basic Computers for Native Spanish Speakers PHS Room D-Wing Students will learn basic computer concepts, how to research the internet, how to open an email account, send and receive messages and how to check their children s school grades and attendance. Amanda Kittell will be the teacher for this class. Gardening Spring Garden Mastery Landmark High School Hey everyone, come join us in our warm greenhouse for the spring gardening class. It is a fun filled class loaded with facts, opportunities to expand your gardening horizons, and everything you need to grow with the best of the best. Come learn all the secrets you wanted to know about gardening. Knowledge is always free. Experience gardening to the fullest from two of Utah Counties funniest gardeners. Gardeners know all the dirt. Experience the latest in Rhyzomitus Living. Expand your gardening skills from seed propagation to plant cuttings to bulb forcing to garden prep to tree pruning to planting techniques to hanging basket and patio combinations, we will fill your mind with as much information as you can absorb. Teachers for this 8 week course will be Mark Van Wagoner, garden columnist for the Daily Herald, and Mike Allen, formally of BYU s grounds department. Get ready for a great time. This is one of the top gardening classes in Utah County, right here in Spanish Fork. Enjoy the use and experience of one of the nicest greenhouse facilities in the state. We need at least 30 participants to fill the class. Each class member will have the opportunity to grow their choice of ornamental or vegetable plants for use in their own gardens. It s a great time and an awesome class. The class fills fast, so don t delay. This would be a great Christmas gift for that favorite gardener in your life. Hope to see you there! Guitar Beginning ages 8 & up PHS D-Wing Rm #2 This course is a 4 week introduction to guitar. We will learn the basics of playing songs and be challenged to improve our playing with each week. The instructor for the class will be Russell Brown. This class will start February 5, 2015 7. Hunter Safety The Utah Hunter Education program helps you learn essential safety skills and develop practical techniques useful for hunting. Completion of a basic hunter education course is required to obtain a hunting license in Utah if you were born after Dec. 31, 1965. Students are required to obtain a voucher (cost $10.00) at a license agent for the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, prior to registering for a Hunter Education course. Upon successful completion of the course, the license will allow a Hunter Education graduate to hunt small game during the current season. The Hunter Education card, commonly known as the Blue Card will be mailed to the student at the address provided on the voucher. Dates for Hunter Safety held at: Spanish Fork High School cafeteria please enter at the Main entrance of the High School COST: $5.00 Register online and fill out the Hunter Safety form. Quilting Log Cabin ages 18 and up Tuesdays OR Thursdays SHHS Rm# F-103 The Log Cabin Quilt Block is from the Traditional Treasures Quilt Design. This quilt block features an overlapping design that is perfect for playing with pattern and color. The Log Cabin block is an excellent block for beginners because it goes together so easily. It's sew fun for the more experienced quilter who wants to play with color and design. Brandi Mascher will be the instructor for this class. Limit: 10 students per class. Please choose which night you want to attend. Tuesday or Thursday nights 6:00pm to 9:00pm 10. Quilting Binding ages 18 and up Wednesday SHHS Rm #F-103 Time to put the finishing touches on your quilt! Now that your quilt top is pieced and quilted, it s time to think about Binding its Edges! This is adding that final edge to cover the raw edges of the fabric after the quilt has been quilted. Come learn this new and easy Over the Edge binding technique! Brandi Mascher will be the instructor for this one night class. Call Brandi at 801-794- 3428 for supply list. 11. Spinning Spinning class is a 45 minute indoor cycling class on stationary bikes twice a week. Spinning boosts calorie burn by 40% and is great for all fitness levels. Don t forget a water bottle and towel. Class is held in the fitness room at Payson High School (portables on the North). Choose a class time. Please pay online. Limit 15 students per class.
