Through lessons and the clubhouse, Music Lab provides a forum for girls, young women, and trans youth to build community while honing their musical skills. In all activities, the emphasis is on personal, social, and artistic growth, respect for oneself and others, and cooperation. This approach to creative collaboration, combined with the small teacher-to-student ratio in classes, creates a unique environment in which students can achieve extraordinary levels of personal engagement with music while advancing their team-building skills and capacity for collaborative work. All students are expected to attend classes regularly and participate in group activities, whether they attend classes only, or also participate in weekend workshops, clubhouse, or all of the above.

11 FINANCIAL AID If you are interested in applying for financial aid, please read on and fill out the questions below. If you are paying full tuition, you do not have to fill out this section. Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls operates with very limited resources and we rely heavily on donations and support from the community to sustain our programs, so we ask those who can afford to pay full price to do so. However, we realize that not everyone can afford the fee, so we have determined a sliding scale that includes a range of tuition amounts. Please consider your family income, resources, and dependents in the household when determining your financial aid request amount. This process is honor-based and confidential. We do not require any supporting documentation for financial aid consideration, so we expect you to be honest in your assessment and statement of financial need. Due to our limited funds, we cannot afford to grant every financial aid request. So please, pay what you can. However, if you do need financial assistance, please don t hesitate to ask for it that s why we offer it. Financial Aid Guidelines Household income under $40,000 Most of our full financial aid goes to students from households with a total annual income of less than $40,000. If your household income is less than $20,000, you may request full financial aid without any further explanation. If your income falls between $20,000 and $40,000, please request full financial aid if needed, or if you are able to pay tuition, please tell us how much you can pay. Household income between $40,000 and $80,000 Most partial financial aid goes to girls from households with a total annual income between $40,000 and $80,000. Please request full financial aid if needed, or if you are able to pay tuition, please tell us how much you can pay. Household income above $80,000 We are generally able to consider financial aid for households with a total income of greater than $80,000 only in extreme, extenuating circumstances, such as medical hardship, recent job loss, or a large number of dependents (i.e. financial responsibility for extended family members). We cannot grant financial aid due to the student being enrolled in multiple afterschool programs, or other situations involving elective activities. However, if you feel you need financial assistance, please submit a financial aid form with an explanation, and we will review it. How much can you afford to pay toward your student s membership dues each month? Feel free to explain your situation further here:
