ADX Over the past four years, I ve helped ADX grow and develop into Portland s premier makerspace with an everchanging set of goals and team members. With such a diverse nature and constantly changing clientele, the shop is an amorphous space that demands constant adaptation to stay relevant and. From web management to advertising development, copy writing to promotional material designs to event planning, ADX has demanded everything I ever dreamed a job could demand, and then more. I am honored to say that I ve had such and instrumental role in its success.
LowBrau Lowbrau Beirhalle is perhaps Band s greatest success story. To start, it is a wildly successful bar in Sacramento, CA, which has risen to prominence in the local food scene. It has won awards, inspired a sister restaurant, and now has plans of opening locations across the state, including locations in sports arenas and airports. Band was hired to help the LB team with identity development, including logo design, spatial design, interior consulting, web development, copy writing, murals, fabrication and more. From a design perspective, the LowBrau brand has garnered more press and fanfare than we ever expected. We have been featured on Behance, Design Work Life and Brand New, among other design blogs and publications we respect. When asked, I like to tell people that I drew the pig.
TEDx Band worked with a team of creatives to develop a clean and playful brand package and event materials that coherently unified the aesthetics of this 2013 event. After I completed the logos and type selections, I lead a team in applying the brand to brochures, programs, signage, nametags and apparel. Additionally, we helped to develop fun Action Breaks between the talk sessions, including my Stationary Bike Race that challenged a number of the 700 participants to see who could pedal the hardest and fastest in place to win.
Lightening Bar Collective The LBC is a Portland-based team of entrepreneurs who currently run some incredibly successful watering holes in Portland, including Jackknife, a project which myself and Band worked very hard on (we re really proud of that 15-foot neon sign). For the last few years, myself and a number of Bandhired contractors have helped the LBC team with brand management including logo design, signage and interior design, website builds, apparel design and more, helping ensure the spaces look great while running smoothly.
Forest For The Trees FFTT is an annual celebration of art and creativity that takes place each summer in Portland. My good friend Gage, the event s founder, spends the better part of the spring appearing before a variety of neighborhood councils in our city to obtain proper permissions to paint over 20 murals on public walls around town. Every August for the past three years now, FFTT invites artists from around the world to convene in the Northwest and spend a week creating public works of art, while the team behind FFTT organizes public events and viewings in tandem with live painting. Since the event s inception, Band has worked incredibly tirelessly with FFTT to make sure everything looks great. Aside from logos (we designed the script logo by carving it into a tree) and websites, we ve had the opportunity to design shirts, hats, promotional materials, and even put some paint on some walls.
Thanks.
