S.R000--A v Conference Calling (CC) Conference Calling (CC) provides a subscriber with the ability to have a multiconnection call, i.e., a simultaneous communication between three or more parties (conferees). If any of the conferees to a conference call disconnects, the remaining parties remain connected. If the controlling subscriber of a conference call disconnects, the conference circuit and all conferees are released. CC remains in effect until the controlling subscriber disconnects. The controlling party may drop the conferee connected the shortest time with the drop last party feature code. Any number of conferees may be dropped this way. The conference call terminates when no other conferee remains. CC does not impact a subscriber s ability to originate calls. Applicability to Telecommunications Services CC is applicable to voice telecommunication services.. Normal Procedures with Successful Outcome Authorization CC may be generally available or may be provided after prearrangement with the service provider. The subscription parameters may include the maximum number of conferees allowed in a subscriber s conference call. The maximum number of conferees in any conference call is also dependent upon the local service provider. Deauthorization CC may be withdrawn at the subscriber s request or for administrative reasons. Registration CC has no registration. Deregistration CC has no deregistration. - Conference Calling (CC)
S.R000--A v.0 Activation CC is activated upon authorization. Deactivation CC shall be deactivated upon deauthorization. Invocation Invocation with a Call Setup Request CC may be invoked by an authorized subscriber concurrently with a call setup request with the following feature activation sequence: Alternatively: * FC + # + termination address + SEND. * FC + termination address + SEND is possible, if a fixed length invocation feature code is distinct from the drop last party invocation feature code. Invocation within a Two-Way Call CC may be invoked from within a two-way call by an authorized subscriber (with or without a preceding flash request) followed by one of the following feature activation sequences: Alternatively: * FC + SEND or * FC + # + termination address + SEND. * FC + termination address + SEND is possible, if a fixed length invocation feature code is distinct from the drop last party invocation feature code. Adding a Party to a Conference Call Once invoked, CC remains invoked until the controlling subscriber disconnects. Additional parties may be added with one of the following feature activation sequences: termination address + SEND or * FC + # + termination address + SEND Conference Calling (CC) -
S.R000--A v Alternatively: * FC + termination address + SEND is possible, if a fixed length invocation feature code is distinct from the drop last party invocation feature code. Drop Last Party Invocation within a Conference Call The conferee most recently added to a conference call may be dropped from within the call or after placing the call on hold, by the controlling subscriber specifying the drop last party feature code (with or without a preceding flash request), as in: Alternatively: * FC0 + SEND. * FC + termination address + SEND is possible, if a fixed length drop last party invocation feature code is distinct from the conference invocation feature code. Drop the conferee most recently added to the conference, if any, and play an optional warning tone to announce the departure of the conferee. The controlling subscriber shall be connected to the remaining conferees. If there are no conferees all conferees have already been dropped or disconnected disconnect the controlling subscriber and terminate the conference call. Normal Operation with Successful Outcome The following tables describe call party actions and system reactions for CC. Table : Idle State for Conference Calling State Idle Condition The controlling subscriber is idle. F U CC invocation feature code string, as in: * FC + SEND. 20 S.R000--A v.0 Call Delivery (CD) Call Forwarding Busy (CFB) Call Forwarding Default (CFD) Call Forwarding No Answer (CFNA) Call Forwarding Unconditional (CFU) Call Transfer (CT) Once CT is invoked, CT takes precedence over CC. That is, the controlling subscriber cannot add more parties to a CT (in effect trying to convert the CT call into a CC). Once CC is invoked, CC takes precedence over CT. That is, the conference controller cannot transfer a conference in progress or relinquish control of the conference to one of the conferees. Call Waiting (CW) CC takes precedence over CW. If CC is invoked, CW shall not be invoked for an incoming call and the subscriber shall be considered to be busy. Calling Name Presentation (CNAP) Calling Name Restriction (CNAR) If the CC controlling subscriber is authorized for a Variable Per-Call CNAR Mode and activates CNAR during the setup of a CC leg, the CNAR activation applies only to that call leg. If the CC controlling subscriber is authorized for a Variable Per-Call CNAR Mode and deactivates CNAR during the setup of a CC leg, the CNAR deactivation applies only to that call leg Conference Calling (CC) -
S.R000--A v Calling Number Identification Presentation (CNIP) Calling Number Identification Restriction (CNIR) If the CC controlling subscriber activates the Temporary CNIR Mode during the setup of a CC leg, then the Temporary CNIR activation applies only to that call leg. If the CC controlling subscriber deactivates the Temporary CNIR Mode during the setup of a CC leg, then the Temporary CNIR deactivation applies only to that call leg. Conference Calling (CC) Not applicable. Data Privacy (DP) DP does not support CC. Do Not Disturb (DND) Emergency Services (--) If a subscriber with CC invoked invokes -- for a call leg, or if a subscriber invokes the -- call with a CC invocation feature code, the -- call is allowed to proceed. A subsequent flash (an activation of the SEND key) while communicating with a PSAP is used to bridge the held party(-ies) into the conversation. No additional parties may be added to the conference call. The PSAP cannot be dropped with the Drop Last Party feature code. Flexible Alerting (FA) Group Facsimile (G Fax) G Fax does not support CC. Message Waiting Notification (MWN) MWN pip tone should only be applied for the first leg of the call. - Conference Calling (CC)
S.R000--A v.0 Mobile Access Hunting (MAH) Network Directed System Selection (NDSS) Non-Public Service Mode (NP) This interaction is beyond the scope of this standard. Over-the-Air Service Provisioning (OTASP) When OTASP is active, it takes precedence over all other calls and features. The user may terminate OTASP at any time in order to originate an emergency call. Password Call Acceptance (PCA) Preferred Language (PL) Priority Access and Channel Assignment (PACA) Remote Feature Control (RFC) CC should not be allowed to be invoked with RFC, as this may allow fraudulent use. Selective Call Acceptance (SCA) Service Negotiation (SN) Data Services do not support CC. Support of a mid call service change from a voice to a data call while the controlling party is on hold is beyond the scope of this feature. Subscriber PIN Access (SPINA) CC should not be activated while SPINA is active Conference Calling (CC) -
S.R000--A v Subscriber PIN Intercept (SPINI) The service provider may require the CC invoking subscriber (with SPINI active) to enter the SPINI PIN when adding a party to a CC call. That is, the subscriber shall be requested to enter the SPINI PIN when adding a conferee to a CC call, if the call leg to the conferee meets the call type criteria for SPINI. Three-Way Calling (WC) WC takes precedence over CC. That is, a subscriber cannot add more parties to a WC call (in effect trying to convert the WC call into a CC call). User Group (UG) Voice Message Retrieval (VMR) Voice Privacy (VP) A three-way call can be converted to a two-way call with a flash request to drop the last party. The two-way call can be converted into a conference call. - Conference Calling (CC)
