Casting such a wide net for talent was the direct result of the company s phenomenally fast growth. In 2010, the year before GREE International was launched, its parent company (GREE Inc.) was ranked as Japan s fastestgrowing tech firm. Mere months later, the San Francisco branch was on its own aggressive growth trajectory and needed to fill its talent pipeline with high-quality candidates. Equally critical, all of the company s recruiting had to be done with maximum speed, efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Even prior to going live with the system, GREE International found Jobvite Hire s flexibility and ease-of-use to be indispensable. The company customized Jobvite s configuration, tailored data fields to its unique requirements, created candidate templates, crafted interview evaluation forms, and set up a basic job-posting website all in just a week and a half. As one member of the GREE International team put it, That s outrageously fast. The system also enabled the company s Recruiting Team to efficiently manage and track job requisitions, schedule candidate interviews, and carefully track communication with each candidate.
3 Jobvite Reports... It s the kind of actionable intelligence that keeps GREE ahead of the competition for talent. Prior to implementing Jobvite, the recruiting team literally spent hours keying data into spreadsheets or combing through the spreadsheets for specific information that was often not easy to find. Worst of all, GREE International a social gaming juggernaut had no tools for leveraging social recruiting and no system for managing employee job referrals. All of that needed to change. In early 2012, the Recruiting Team was given a hefty goal to hire 150 people to effectively double the size of the organization within six months. With Jobvite, the team reached its goal in five months with no help from recent acquisitions. It was a busy time for us, explains Janice Hoke, Human Resources Project Specialist, who joined the GREE International Recruiting Team in February However, sharing the experience and accomplishing such a goal only heightened our working relationships. Today, as a team, we are stronger than ever. As a gaming company whose real-time network operations are crucial to its success, GREE International places a heavy emphasis on data analysis. This applies to every aspect of the business including the recruiting process. We analyze a lot of recruiting and talent data with the Jobvite system, Hoke explains. For example, we closely track the average number of days it takes for a candidate to go through each phase of our recruitment and hiring process from first contact to onboarding. This data helps us better understand our budget and headcount. Hoke creates Recruiting Metrics reports that sort through a myriad of details for each candidate and requisition. Thanks to these Jobvite reports, Hoke says, senior management can clearly see the number of new hires, offer rejections, open requisitions, active candidates, referrals, and the interview process in real time. It s the kind of actionable intelligence that keeps GREE International ahead of the competition for talent.
4 With Jobvite, we re posting jobs and communicating with our candidates more effectively than we ever have. Winning the Numbers Game In 2013, we are less aggressive in hiring, however, in the first 6 months we ve hired 82 employees, 2% of candidates. And, 30% of our hires were employee referrals. Referrals are very important to GREE International s talent strategy. Hoke explains. Thanks to its intuitive nature and ease-of-use, the Jobvite system is used by almost everyone at GREE International not just its recruiters. Our hiring mangers and our employees are now an integral part of our recruiting function, notes Hoke. Basically, they do a lot of the data-input work required to manage our employee referral program. It s a lot less labor intensive for our recruiting staff, who can now focus on more crucial, time-sensitive tasks. Our recruiting team is able to accomplish all of this because of the power of the Jobvite system, says Hoke. With Jobvite, we re posting jobs and communicating with our candidates more effectively than we ever have. Also, we ve recently invested in Jobvite s sourcing tool, Jobvite Engage. We can now cast a wider net of candidates, College Recruiting and recruiting events are more efficient, and we receive candidate contact information in more of a timely manner.
