(Trnad, Strm, Water, Wind, and Fld Damage, Fire, Electrical Pwer Outage) (FEMA, PUB 229 (4) A majr disaster is defined as any natural catastrphe, r regardless f cause, any fire, fld, r explsin that causes damage f sufficient severity and magnitude t warrant assistance supplementing state, lcal, and disaster relief rganizatin effrts t alleviate damage, lss, hardship, r suffering. Events assciated with disaster are capable f causing traumatic stress when they cause r threaten death, serius injury, r the physical integrity f individuals.
