2 WHAT IS TECH PREP? Academic Tech Prep is a course of study that prepares students for both postsecondary education and work in a highly technological society. Courses are regularly reviewed by the advisory committee to ensure that they prepare students for changing work requirements and our global economy. Academic Tech Prep courses are offered at all Chesapeake high schools and the Center for Science and Technology. Students can choose a course of study from among the following three career clusters: Business and Marketing Engineering and Technical Health and Human Services Students may pursue either the Gold or Silver academic tech prep sequence in one of these career clusters. Students must complete the requirements for the Advanced Studies Diploma to earn the gold seal. The silver seal is awarded to students who complete the requirements for the Standard Diploma. Students may continue their education at other state colleges or universities upon completion of a transfer program at TCC.
