2 Location Hof is a small town in the northern part of Bavaria and located in the heart of Europe. Hof has 45,000 citizens. Hof s region shows the second-highest industrial density across Europe, specialized in manufacturing machinery, plastic (automobile) parts, ceramics and textiles. 3 Motivation The prosperity of the German economy is based on its ability to produce and deliver products very efficiently and in a continuing high quality. The success factors are a distinctive supply chain management as well as an excellent and lean production. Our summer school gives you a holistic understanding of a supply chain. Based on quality and price targets of the customers and financial demand of the company we discuss how to manage international supply chains, how to ensure the quality demands from the customer and how to make production more efficient. In this context we introduce you the concept of lean production and explain the chances production 4.0 can offer. We discuss the concept of M2M-solutions, success factors of M2M solutions and show you the correlation between the analysis of unstructured data and production 4.0. Company visits to industry and logistic companies will complete the program. The program combines lectures with practical examples and excursions to industry and logistic companies. In addition to this academic course content there are numerous opportunities to experience German culture through an cultural and leisure program. We are looking forward to welcoming you!

4 Structur The International Summer School on Production and Supply Chain Management covers the following subjects: Quality Management (Quality Thinking, Process Thinking, Six Sigma) Lean Management in Practice (Quality and inventory, Inventory and cycle time, Cycle time and customer satisfaction, Incentive wage and cycle time) Production 4.0 (Concept of a M2M-solution, Components of a M2M-solution, Sucess factors of M2Msolution, analysis of unstructured data as a basis for production 4.0) Supply Chain Management (Thinking in supply chains, Sucess factors of SCM, Managing international supply chains)

5 Course details Target group Advanced students (Bachelor and Master) of Business Administration, Engineering Sciences and related fields. Date July 11-29, hours per week Venue: Hochschule Hof Alfons-Goppel-Platz Hof, Germany Course language: English Credits: Exam at the end of the course - 5 ECTS-Points Maximum number of participants: 25 Application process The online application portal will remain open from 15th December 2015 until end of March The application can only be done ONLINE. Course fees The course fees are 1,350. This includes accomodation, company excursions, insurance, pick-up service from Hof train station and free 24-hour access to the internet and the library at Hof University. Accomodation /board/ leisure program Participants stay in single rooms in student accommodation on campus. Facilities for self-catering are available. Food must be provided by the participants themselves. Meals in the university's refectory and cafeteria are available at reasonable prices. The supporting program includes guided company excursions, day trips to Nuremberg or Bamberg, guided city walk, international buffet, film night, etc - free sports facilities on campus.
