1 Robi Phone Backup With Phone Backup Service you can store valuable data from your mobile handset to a secured storage and easily recover it whenever you want. With this service, you can save the contacts (phone book); text message (SMS) and calendar items (task note) stored on your handset memory and can retrieve instantly. So, now your phone data are safe even when changing mobile handset or your phone/ SIM is stolen/ lost/ broken. To enjoy the service, you need: A mobile phone with Robi connection Text message (SMS) option in your handset GPRS and Sync feature to use easy synchronization (optional) * Business card (vcard) option in your handset (optional) Access to the internet to manage your web account. (Optional) * If your handset does not have GPRS and/or Sync option, still you can use the service through SMS and web Steps to use: Step 1: Register for the service

2 You will receive a confirmation SMS Step 2: Sync Setting (If you have Sync enabled phone) If you have a Sync enabled phone, you can easily backup your phone contacts and calendar items from your handset memory using easy synchronization feature. To see, if your handset is Sync enabled or not, please visit You have to have Robi INTERNET (or Robi WAP) settings correctly configured in your handset to use synchronization feature. To see if you have these settings or not, please try to visit If you can see the Robi Zone page, you have the correct Internet and/or WAP settings for your handset. Please go to Step 2 (A). In case you can t see the Robi Zone page, you have to download the Internet/WAP settings. Please go to Step 2 (B). Step 2 (A): Sync Settings After successful registration of your Phone Backup Service, you will receive an SMS. You will receive a Service Message (WAP Push) * Connection to server through Internet/WAP will be needed After some time you will receive a Sync configuration settings Save the settings from options If you don t get any link for Sync setting after registration, you can request for the setting through SMS. Type SET and send to Now, follow the Instructions under Step 2 (A).

3 Alternatively, you can request for Sync setting from Visit the link, login with your password (given in the registration confirmation SMS). Go to Online Backup > Sync Setting > Phone Brand > Phone Model. Now you phone is ready for synchronization. Please proceed to Step 3. Step 2 (B): WAP Settings If you do not have Robi Internet/WAP settings: Dial *140*7# Select 1 as answer (WAP Settings) Or Select 2 (Internet Settings) Now, try to visit from your handset. If you can see the Robi Zone page properly, your WAP setting configuration has been done successfully. Alternatively, you can request for WAP Setting from Visit the link, provide all the necessary information. WAP settings will be sent to your handset. Please follow the instruction in the web page.

4 Now, please go to step 2(A) for Sync settings. Step 3: Synchronization Now that you have the proper GPRS and Sync setting in your handset, you can easily backup all your phone contacts and calendar items. Just go to the Sync option, select Phone Backup profile from the handset and then Synchronize. * Sync option can be found under Organizer/ Contact / Connectivity/ Tools menu depending on the handset model. Also the name can vary (e.g. Synchronization). Wait till your Synchronization completes After successful Synchronization, you will receive a SMS containing Backup Summary. Please note that Synchronization backs up the data saved in your handset memory only. SIM card contacts will not be synchronized through this option. Therefore, please copy all the SIM contacts to your phone memory before performing the synchronization. If you don t have Sync enabled phone: If you don t have a Sync enabled handset you can backup your data through SMS also. Almost every mobile handset supports text message (SMS). However, to see, if your handset is capable for SMS

Login with your mobile number and password Enter your mobile number (e.g XXXXXXXX) in the login area (Top right hand corner) Login was provided to you in the registration confirmation SMS Through Web interface, you can: You can manage your account (update your user profile, change password) from the web. You can add, delete, search, group, and edit your contacts from the web. You can download stored contacts as text message or business card and SMS to your handset. You can export (save) your contacts in your PC. Create new text messages (SMS) and forward it to your handset. Online Backup Features After logging in, chose Online Backup (Top right hand corner) Create new contacts: Select New. Save when finished. Delete an existing contact: Check mark the contact and select Delete Edit a Contact: Click on the contact and do required editing. Save when finished. Get contact as SMS: Check mark the contact(s) and select Send as Text Get contact as business card: Check mark the contact(s) and select Send as Business Card Save contact as business card in your PC: Check mark the contact(s) and select Export to PC Save contact as MS Excel card in your PC: Check mark the contact(s) and select Export to CSV Create new SMS: Select New under SMS Backup heading. Save when finished. Delete an existing SMS: Check mark the SMS and select Delete Change User Profile You can change your mobile number and continue use the service any time. The new number must be a Robi number. After logging in, chose User Profile (Top right hand corner) Enter your New Mobile No. Press Update Change Password To change your web login password, chose Change Password (Top right hand corner) Provide all the necessary information.

7 Press Update Forget Password? In case you have lost your password, click the link Forgot Password? Click Here. Type in your mobile number (e.g XXXXXXXX) and submit. The password will be sent to your mobile phone shortly.
