We aim at providing you with the scientific knowledge and the practical skills to work as a human rights expert in different professional environments. We provide you with an enlightening and memorable field experience in the post-conflict situation in Kosovo, where the UN, the OSCE, the EU, NATO and other international organizations are jointly operating an international administration with a strong human rights mandate. The trip will last for one week where you stay with a local family and get the opportunity to have lively discussions about Kosovo s human rights issues with international actors, national human rights institutions, NGOs, media, universities and politicians. The M.A.I.S. program is a two-year academic program which centres on the advanced study of politics and international relations, international economics, history, and international and European law. Students have to complete an interdisciplinary thesis in this research-based program. Equipped with extensive knowledge, strong analytical skills, language competency, and the experience of an international community, graduates proceed to positions in international organisations, business, and government or to further research and academic careers. This postgraduate course is based on the principles of interdisciplinarity, internationality, knowledge of current affairs and participatory learning. The aim of the course is to gain the ability to analyze and understand European and international development processes. The graduates of this course will have excellent career prospectives in international organizations and enterprises or in the field of public or diplomatic services. It provides competences for subsequent legal activities at the interfaces of European and Asian legal regulations e.g. in international companies, international organizations, NGOs or public bodies. The LL.M. program is based on the analysis of problems that arise in legal practice and solution-finding competences in the field of interdisciplinary comparative law. The curriculum enables students to deal with structures and elements of both European and Asian legal systems and offers a series of advanced courses on various topics. Participants spend one semester at the University of Vienna and one semester at the City University of Hong Kong. Tuition Fee 11,300 each semester This LL.M. program is of special interest for persons who are affiliated with or plan to work for internationally operating business law firms or enterprises, government agencies, business lobbies, the institutions of the European Union or any other European and international organizations, and who need a comprehensive and practically oriented education in European and international business law for their professional environment. The program focuses on the European and international legal framework for internationally operating enterprises and the relevant economic governance issues in a European and international context. A special emphasis is put on the enterprises' legal position, when doing business in the European internal market and internationally. With this background, the LL.M. program offers a broad legal education in European and international business law. A strong emphasis is on European Union business law. Master of Laws 2 semesters (full-time) or 4 semesters (part-time) 60 ECTS English Tuition Fee 10,000 each winter semester The postgraduate LL.M. degree course in International Legal Studies at the University of Vienna is a 1 year full-time or a 2 year part-time program. This program aims at deepening the knowledge of fundamental structures and specific issues in international law. Students acquire knowledge and skills that are important for the practice of international law, in international organizations, governmental agencies, as well as in internationally operating law firms and enterprises. The curriculum consists of 4 modules: Fundamental Issues of International Law, International Economic Law, International Organizations and International Dispute Settlement.
