Mixed methods were used to determine the effects of a short-term study abroad experience on pre-service teacher candidates' cultural and instructional awareness of diverse learners needs in the classroom. Data collected during weekly interviews with the student teacher, responsive journaling, and classroom observations completed by the researcher.
