Project II: Developing a functional historical model for predicting tissue damage in the MRIs of patients with multiple sclerosis Department of Statistics Supervisor: Ana-Maria Staicu Project I: Developed testing methodology for the two-sample problem of functional data. This work is motivated by diffusion tensor imaging of patients with Multiple Sclerosis. The R code was published online. Project II: Developed a multidimensional change detection algorithm that reduced the dimensionality of the testing problem through joint diagonalization of a common transformation matrix. Intern 2013 Maxpoint Interactive Research Analytics Team Morrisville, NC Supervisor: Michael Els Project I: Developed Bayesian and functional data analysis methodology for estimating pricing distribution curves for specific subpopulations of interest. R and SQL were used and provided for implementation of methods. Used Gibbs Sampling to identify motifs (patterns) within sets of DNA sequences. R was used for implementation Molecular Biology Department, Princeton University, Princeton, NJ Supervisor: Carlos Brody Performed research using the classification expectation-maximization algorithm to classify waveforms and identify neurons responsible for specific brain functions. Provided a technical report and MATLAB code for lab use Mathematical and Sciences Research Institute, Berkeley, CA Supervisors: Juan Meza and Ricardo Cortez Collaborated with a research team to study the inhibition of flow within a power network using computational methods. C++ code was written for implementation of algorithm.
