5 Thank You for Purchasing our High Performance LIGHTCUBE System 1. Caution: Handle Reflective Material with Care. 2. Verify all materials are on site, and available for installation. 3. In preparation for light cube assembly determine the length of the well by measuring from the top of the curb to the ceiling. Subtract a minimum of 2 inches from the top of the curb and 10 nominally above the bottom lens frame to allow for deviations in Well length. Well sections are in 4, 3, 2 and 1 foot lengths. 4. Assemble reflective material. Remove the protective film from the reflective material snap corners of the reflective material together locking material into a shaft like object in accordance with the desired dimensions. 6 5. Build desired shaft height by inserting reflective Assembly into K Connectors. Sunoptics suggests building shaft horizontally on the floor. 6. Using the 8-18 x ½ Drill tip Screws secure Light Well on all 4 corners with the Corner support Angle with a #2 Philips head driver bit. Page 6 of 11

7 7. Secure Reflective Assembly to K Connector by using provided chisel to push Retaining Clip into position. Chisel Retaining Clip "K" CONNECTOR FRAME 8. Insuring LIGHTCUBE is square, place Bottom Lens Frame on the T bar of the Suspended ceiling. Page 7 of 11

8 9. Attach Support Channel to the Curb insuring measurements allow for the bottom of the shaft to be centered on and to float 10 nominally above the Bottom Lens frame. 10. Slide Reflective Well through the Curb insuring the shaft is centered on and floating 10 nominally above Bottom Lens Frame. Page 8 of 11

9 11. Secure Reflective Well to the Support Channel. 12. (Optional) To restrict Light from entering between the Light Well and curb Attach Top Perimeter Cover to the curb and cut to size to permit optimal light to enter into Light Well. Page 9 of 11

12 SKYLIGHT INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 1. Set skylight over prepared, flashed curbs, making sure skylight is square and evenly spaced on all four sides. 2. Mount skylight to the curb with stainless steel screws, Using 1 fastener for each hole provided. Drive screws just snug to the skylight flange. Check skylight for squareness and readjust screws if necessary.. INSTRUCCIONES DE INSTALACION DEL TRAGALUZ 1. Siente el tragaluz sobre la base preparada. Y asegure que el tragaluz este bien cuadrado de los cuatro lados y tener elmismo espacio. 2. Monte el tragaluz al encintado con los tornillos plateados, galvanizados, o de aluminio, usando un sujetador para cada agujero proporcionado. Coloque los tornillos ligeramente al reborde del tragaluz. Revise que el tragaluz este bien cuadrado y reajuste los tornillos si es necesario.. IMPORTANT Make sure you have an even margin on all sides NOTE: CORRECT MOUNTING (even margin all 4 sides) When securing the skylight to the curb, run screws just snug to the skylight flange. Overtightening will distort the flange. This in turn may create forces which may crack the skylight lens. IMPORTANT Snug screws so gasket is tight. (DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN) Importante Estar seguro de tener elmismo margen en los cuatro lados. Nota: Montaje Correcto (tener el mismo margen en los 4 lados) Cuando asegure el tragaluz sobre la base acomode los tornillos lijeramente que apenas toque el reborde del tragaluz. El apretar los tornillos demasiado torcera el bordo esto alternadamente puede crear las fuerzas que podrian agrietar los lentes del tragaluz. Importante Colocar los tornillos ligeramente. 14 THE NATURAL LIGHT FIXTURE SUNOPTICS SKYLIGHTS generally require very little maintenance to properly perform for many years. However, as with all products, a scheduled preventative maintenance program should be followed. 1. When cleaning acrylic lenses, use only water or water with a mild soap. Use a soft rag to minimize scratching the acrylic 2. NEVER use ammonia, aromatic or petroleum based products to clean acrylic lenses. This will certainly cause deterioration and cracking of the lens and will void the warranty. 1. Cleaning and lubrication of the motor spindle should be performed on a regular basis. The spindle can be cleaned with a light solvent and wire brush. Avoid bending the spindle as this could hinder operation of the skylight. 2. After cleaning the spindle, lubricate using pneumatic tool oil. Apply a few drops to the base of the spindle when in the full open position. Also a few drops around the center of the shaft. 3. Occasionally, a chatter noise may occur. This is normal for impedance protected motor and shouldn t affect the operation of the skylight. Should this noise persist, the motor spindle needs to be cleaned and lubricated. 1. The motor and drive mechanism of the light control louvers are designed in such a way that they require no preventative maintenance. They are however, designed to be operated only by the motor unit. NEVER manually operate the louvers by rotating an individual blade. This will only move the blades out of adjustment. 2.
