This program encompassed 12 weeks, which included classroom didactic, clinical oversight, medication and skill validation. Developed and co-coordinate the surgical intensive care course as well as skills lab. Co-coordinate the pediatric care class, including mock codes for the pediatric population. Served on JCAHO and medical rounds committees Yale-New Haven Hospital New Haven, Connecticut Nurse Intern Provided care to patients on a step down cardiac, acute pulmonary floor. Mentored by some of the finest nurses and managers. Improved patient relations, primary care giving skills, increased knowledge relating to disease process, become comfortable with procedures and performing activities of daily life. This position also included post graduation work during the NCLEX waiting period. Dressing changes, catheterizations, medication administration and managing family concerns were an integral part of this program.
