2 Presentation and objectives Water is a real economic and geopolitical issue. In front of triple problems of the drought, pollution and the high demand of water, due to the consecutive increasing of population, the natural resource that we thought eternally available becomes rare. The multiplicity of its uses makes water a vital resource for human activities. Its management is a subject to continuous supervision and affects relations between countries. This scientific event will be an occasion to bring together leading researchers specialized in the domain and to discuss the various policies of water management and to introduce new development strategies. It will be also, an opportunity to discuss the collaboration between developed and developing countries. A support and activation of collaborations between researchers and socio-economic sector potentialities should participate in water resources management. An actualization of the knowledge of different methods and tools for the management and preservation of water resources; During this scientific event, many concretes experiences will be presented and discussed through communications. The contributions from all over the world will be accepted when management questions and preservation of groundwater resources are discussed.

3 Topics 1 - Water resources and environment: Management and treatment techniques. 2 - Petroleum hydrogeology, Karst hydrogeology and hydrothermal. 3 - Impact of climate change on water resources. 4 - Contribution of new technologies in the domain of hydrogeology: Modeling, Geophysics, Satellite Remote Sensing and GIS. This event will see the creation of the Algerian Association of Hydrogeologists, which will be affiliated to the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH).
