5 INFORMATION / CONTACT phone: +51 (1) ext www: [email protected] VENUE The conference venue will be the campus of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) that offers all standard academic facilities. It is situated near shopping and business locations that are scattered throughout a large city like Lima, which is the capital city of Peru. Lima is a Roma type city offering a series of cultural and touristic attractions. In Lima itself 1 and in its surrounding countryside 2 it is possible to visit pre-hispanic archeological sites, colonial buildings, museums, etc., as well as to enjoy very good restaurants 3a and events 3b offering international and Peruvian cuisine. PERU From Lima one can easily reach, by plane or by car, other well known Peruvian locations 4 like Cusco, Machu Picchu, the Titicaca Sea, or else visit archeological sites in North and South of Peru, such as the Moche Route 5, Nazca, Caral - the oldest civilization in America 6, etc. Additionally, it will be possible to organize other activities, like visiting the natural reserves Pacaya-Samiria, Manu, etc., where one can watch exotic birds and animals in their natural environment, or visit ancient rests in the jungle, like Kuelap a 3b
