High school students by Fall 2016 WHAT? Bible studies & Small Groups Education: Teaching English Evangelism: Friendship & Lifestyle, and VBS/Bible Clubs WHY SLOVAKIA? 90% of the population of Slovakia is un-churched due to 40 years of communist rule. We are on a mission to impact the lives of the next generation for Christ Jesus! COST: Price of airfare (estimated at $2000) Plus tour day hotel room and expenses for tour day on July 9 MISSION To boldly, intentionally and faithfully make known the light, love and peace of Jesus Christ, by word and deed, to those around the world who live in spiritual disbelief, darkness and despair. PURPOSE Slovakia is the newest age-appropriate mission at Salem. High school students have the opportunity to impact the world for Christ by going on a week-long mission trip to Slovakia to work at a camp sharing the Gospel through Bible time while also educating the campers in uniquely American skills. The ultimate purpose of this trip is to represent Christ Jesus well with those whom we will be spending time with. We will be doing many different activities throughout the camp, yet the most important things will be our gospel presentation and the way we show Christ in the manner we act throughout each day. This trip will broaden your horizon to different cultures while serving others

2 WHAT THE MISSION TRIP WILL BE LIKE The camp is for elementary and middle school aged youth and has the feel of a Camp Lone Star outdoors camp Lots of energy activities, sports, and of some basic English lessons. A goal is to encourage the campers to speak English... a lot of them have English classes in school but some of the English teachers are very critical of kids if they don't speak correctly. As a result, those who understand English are reluctant to speak for fear of being criticized. It is a wonderful opportunity for our American students to come be a light for Christ by just making friends and encouraging these campers in conversation. Our students will be involved in many exciting activities including: VBS skits, sports, games, music, and bible studies. TEAM JOBS 1. Teach conversational English to a small group of students 2. Lead a topical discussion group of small groups 3. Build relationships with the students during free time 4. Plan and take part in group games, skits and other group activities 5. Show a servant s heart in modeling the life of Christ 6.
