3 Simran Kaushal, International Tax Partner, PwC Simran Kaushal is a Partner in the International Tax Services practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers San Jose. Simran has over 20 years of experience and expertise in all aspects of international tax planning, including structuring of overseas operations, planning to minimize foreign taxes, cross-border asset transfers and reorganizations, joint ventures, international acquisition structuring and integration as well as repatriation planning. Simran's specific focus is Integrated Global Structuring Projects that achieve significant cash tax savings and worldwide structural tax rate reductions. She offers expertise with the migration of intangible property rights in conjunction with global expansion, including design of alternative structures, developing the deferral strategy and hands on implementation assistance. She has planned and implemented a large number of global tax efficient supply chain strategies for U.S. based multinationals. Throughout her professional career, Simran has specialized in working on international tax issues for technology companies including software and internet, semiconductor, computers and networking and clean tech industries. Simran is a California CPA as well as a Chartered Accountant from India and graduated from the University of Delhi, India with a B.S. in Business. 5 Uwe Carl, Director, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Uwe is a director with PwC s International Tax Services practice in San Jose, California. He has been with PwC for over 14 years working with a variety of clients in the technology industry to address their international tax consulting needs. As an international tax practitioner, Uwe has developed significant expertise in many aspects of international tax planning, including the development and implementation of a variety of global structures and intangible property planning, planning to minimize foreign taxes, cross-border transfers of technology, foreign tax credit planning, subpart F planning, international acquisitions, and cross-border transactional structuring. Uwe s specific focus includes global structuring projects that have achieved significant cash tax savings and worldwide structural tax rate reductions. He has significant experience with migration of intangible property rights in conjunction with global expansion, including design of alternative structures, modeling of anticipated benefits, and guidance in formulating operational policies and procedures.
