3 The Nanoelectronics and Microsystems Laboratory (NML) was established in 1998 in the former Department of Electronics, Informatics, Systems Engineering (now Department of Informatics, Modeling, Electronics and System Engineering) to support research in electronics. The NML is also strongly committed to the education mission of the Università della Calabria. The multidisciplinary approach is a peculiar characteristic of NML group: the specificity arises from the ability to cover the whole cultural area of electronics, comprising material and devices characterization, study of IC architecture as well as design and realization of electronics system and sensors. The NML is organized in Sections and has a permanent staff of 7 people (6 of them Researchers) and a temporary staff including 2 post-docs and 9 PhD students. The area devoted to research laboratories is approximately 300 m2. 1
