3 3/25 1. Tosibox Lock and MOXA NPort 5110 By connecting MOXA NPort 5110 to Tosibox Lock you can operate virtually any device having RS232 interface remotely from your PC having the Tosibox Key inserted. This Setup instructs how to configure Tosibox Lock and MOXA NPort 5110.

Serialize Tosibox Lock with Tosibox Key Instructions can be found from Lock in Default mode Option 1: If the setup will be carried out on an existing network, check the network settings of the network and set these on the lock. a. Connect PC to Lock s Service port, enter on your browser s address bar and hit Enter. Log in (factory default admin password is printed on the sticker at the bottom of the Lock) b. Click Network, then the Edit for LAN:

5 5/25 c. LAN static IP: Set a free IP address from the target network range d. LAN network mask: set the same netmask as the target network e. If the network already has a DHCP server, switch DHCP server off, otherwise leave it on: f. Click Save g. Connect Lock from WAN port to Internet.

6 6/25 Option 2: If the setup can use the factory default address range of the Lock, check the address range and netmask from the bottom sticker. Configure NPort to use these network settings (see Chapter 3) and configure your other network devices, if any, to use the same settings Lock in DHCP client mode With this mode you can only set up the lock to an existing network that has DHCP server. Connect PC to Lock s Service port, enter on your browser s address bar and hit Enter. Log in (factory default admin password is printed on the sticker at the bottom of the Lock. Set lock LAN to DHCP client. a. Click Network b. Select DHCP client as protocol c. click Switch protocol d. finally press save. e. Connect Lock to local network from LAN (no other cables needed).

8 8/25 3. MOXA NPort 5110 MOXA Nport 5110 User Manual can be found from Setup NPort Set NPort to static IP address or use the DHCP client mode. Note: The IP address may change during power loss if DHCP client is used. To be able to use the same IP address always, set the NPort to static IP address. By default, NPort has the IP address To access the settings, go to Windows Control Panel -> Network and Internet -> Network and Sharing Center. On the left side of the window select Change Adapter Settings.

9 9/25 a. Select Local Area Connection, right click and select Properties.

10 10/25 b. Click on IPv4 and click Properties.

11 11/25 c. On the window that opens, set the computer IP address to and use netmask d. Connect NPort directly to PC with RJ-45 cable e. Open a browser and type in NPort address Install NPort software that comes with the adapter package.

12 12/25 a. Start the Nport software, Click on Search

13 13/25 b. Software will list all found NPort devices. Doubleclick on a found device.

14 14/25 c. Select the Network tab, and tick the second Modify box from the top and change IP Configuration to DHCP. Click OK.

Change your PC s Network interface back to DHCP by following the instructions on section 3.1, but in part c, on the window that opens, set the computer IP address to Obtain an IP address automatically and click OK. e. Connect NPort and PC to locks LAN f. Go to browser, type in the Lock s LAN IP address on the address bar and hit enter. On the Lock status page, you will see the NPort as NP5110A_9998 or similar. Click on that to open MOXA setup page.

16 16/ Static IP address Click on Network settings. Change IP configuration to static and assign a proper IP address (you can check the static IP range from the lock status page) Press save at the bottom of the page.

17 17/25 Press Save/Restart Click Home

18 18/25 Click on Serial settings, then select Port1. Here you can change the serial parameters to match the device you are setting up communication with. Finally click Submit. Back on the Lock status page, select Scan for LAN devices and wait for a minute, the MOXA NPort should now be visible with the new static IP address you set.

19 19/ COM Mapping Start the Nport software as Administrator, Click on Search

20 20/25 Click once on COM Mapping, click Add

22 22/25 Click Apply, then click OK for the dialog that opens

23 23/25 Click once on Configuration, click Configure

24 24/25 Select Serial tab, tick the Modify box, select the row from the list and click Settings

25 25/25 Change the settings as needed for your appliance, then click OK. Click OK for all pop-up messages as well. The NPort is now configured, and you can access the device connected to NPort using the COM port defined.
