7 Marine West Coast (Oceanic) 7 Temperature ( ºF) Precipitation (inches) The distribution of the climate is greatly influenced by the orientation of mountain systems in North America and Europe. It is likewise found along coastal Chile in NOAA South America. The marine west coast climate extends further inland into northwest Europe than in North America due to the orientation of mountains. 9 Subarctic 9 Temperature ( ºF) Precipitation (inches) The subarctic climate is only found in the Northern Hemisphere because there is no large landmass at the same latitude in thesouthern Hemisphere. Vast expanses of the subarctic climate stretch across northern North America U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service from Newfoundland to Alaska. Subarctic climate is found in northern Eurasia from Scandinavia through most of Siberia. The subarctic climate has brief, cool summers and bitterly cold winters.
