1 Temperature Monitor - TM1 The Temperature Monitor, TM-1 is the latest generation of the widely applied temperature monitor MT1. Updated with all the experience acquired by Tree Tech over the last 6 years and 2000 plus monitor installations, the TM1 is on technologies cutting edge. The TM-1 replaces the mechanical winding and oil thermometers used in oil-filled transformers and reactors with all the advantages of microcontroller technology. The TM1 has great user flexibility. Each module can be parameterized to the specification of individual users. The system is modular, enabling the expansion of the number of measured winding by cooperation with a temperature monitor TM2 (see specific catalog). The TM1 and TM2 are linked via RS-485 serial communication, the units are fully compatible in connections and dimensions as there predecessors MT1 and MT2 and well as a supervision module MS. This enables the two generations of equipment to be interchangeable. Features Include: - Input for PT100 at 0 ºC sensors with self-calibration, accuracy of 0.2% of scale and high stability in wide temperature ranges. Accommodation for a 3-wire Pt100 sensor, a 4-wire Pt100 or two 3-wire Pt100 sensors. (Redundant temperature measuring and measuring validation) - One true RMS universal AC input from 0-10A, accuracy of 0.5% of scale, used to measure the load and calculate the winding temperature through the thermal imaging process. - Two high-bright LED displays to facilitate the visualization of oil and winding temperatures in all lighting conditions. - Calculation of the final gradient forecast for oil-winding temperature at the current load. - Two current outputs for remote indication of temperatures with an output band selection of (0-1mA,0-5mA, 0-10mA, 0-20mA and 4-20mA) - Two N.O. contacts (N.C. or combinations under request) for temperature alarms - Two N.O. contacts (N.C. or combinations under request) for oil and winding temperature trips, with double security provision (simultaneous sequence of 2 microcontrollers for operation). Adjustable temperature setting from 0-20 minutes with countdown display. - Two N.C. contacts for the startup of forced cooling groups. Time Delay between the startup of each group (even with power outage of TM-1) and forced operation through the self-diagnostic routines in case of module failure or voltage outage. - Cooling operation is selectable on the front panel between Automatic and Manual. Automatic rotation of the operation of the two forced cooling groups for uniform fan usage. - One N.C. contact for power outage or internal failure detected during the self-diagnostics. - Self-Diagnostic: 2 microcontrollers (reciprocal supervision), detection of temperature and current measuring failure, relay activation etc - Two RS-485 serial ports, one for connection with TM-2 if applicable and another to be used by the user for connection with Modbus RTU protocol to acquire online data, remote control and parameterization. - One RS-232 serial port to acquire online data and for parameterization through an application software provided free of charge - Total absence of mechanical parts and self-calibration through the TM-1 firmware. 01

The redundant measurement allows the detection of faults in the sensor or in connection cables. If a fault happens temperature monitoring can be maintained until a maintenance in the defective sensor is possible. Option 2 - it Allows total monitoring of the connection cables to the sensor. However internal defects in the sensor will only be detected in case of abrupt change in the measured temperature. Option 3 -Partial Monitoring of the connection cables to the sensor. Internal defects in the sensor will be detected only in case of abrupt change in the measured temperature. Therefore, it is recommended that options 1 or 2 are used, in this order. 03

6 Ordering Information Temperature Monitor - TM1 its an universal equipment, in other words, the characteristics of its inputs and outputs (CT current, output current ma) can be programmed through its front panel or through its serials ports RS232 or RS485, using the specific parametering software. Besides that, the power voltage is universal, in the range from 85 to 265Vdc/Vac 50/60Hz.
