Many small grape farmers produce the area s premier wine, the ruby red Chianti Classico. 32 The Perfect Location Situated in the town of Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, in the heart of the Chianti wine region, Castello del Nero is the ideal base from which to explore Tuscany. The hotel operates a daily shuttle service to and from Florence. AIRPORTS The closest airports are Pisa or Florence. Castello del Nero is located approximately 30 minutes from Florence airport, and one hour from Pisa airport. Transfers can be arranged upon request. Castello del Nero is accessible by helicopter.
