5 Chateau de Pennautier Classique France (AOC Cabardes) $17.92-$1.00 off = $16.92 Made from Cabernet Franc 10%, Cabernet Sauvignon 20%, Merlot 20%, Malbec 10%, Syrah 20%, Grenache 20%, Chateau de Pennautier is dark red-purple colour, almost black in its youth. A very pure flavour of ripe red & black fruits (cherries, blackberries, mulberries ). On the palate, there is an intense fruitiness which is enhanced by a tannic structure, typical of the bordelais grape varieties. The wine is intended to be drunk in its youth, but can age over 3 to 4 years. Note: A hidden gem, Chateau de Pennautier was built in Revived by the Lorgeril family more than 300 years later, this wine is truly a hidden gem. Chateau Fourcas Borie France (Listrac) $33.69 The 2010 is 75% Merlot, 15% Petit Verdot and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, producing one of the best Listracs I have tasted in many a year. A sleeper of the vintage, this dense ruby/purple-colored wine is opulent, round and consumer-friendly, with plenty of incense, red and black fruits, medium to full body, and a lusciousness that is very endearing.
