21 Date Try out 2: GIS TECHNICIAN The City of XXX is seeking a self-starter with excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills to provide technical support in the maintenance, development and operation of the City s Geographic Information System (GIS). The position plays a key role in the day-to-day operations of geodatabase creation and maintenance, and product request processing for all city departments. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, innovative, enjoys problem-solving, has strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to function with minimum guidance, operating as part of a team executing projects from beginning through implementation. Associate s Degree or equivalent coursework at a technical or vocational school in GIS, Cartography, Geography, Civil Engineering, or Computer Science and two years experience working in GIS or related field, including experience using ArcGIS software.
