It can be used to practice skills, demonstrate knowledge through presentation tools, easily share work with parents and the larger community, integrate content areas in innovative ways, and the list goes on. But when do you find the time to learn how to most efficiently use apps and mobile devices, and discover all of their potential for helping teach, reinforce learning and provide a way for students to share their knowledge in creative and meaningful ways? This day is designed to share the dozens of practical ways apps and mobile devices can be used to increase achievement, participation and motivation of every student in your classroom. In this active and strategy packed day, I will share numerous free or low cost apps that work well in a classroom setting and provide the practice and application of skills and content we want our students to master. We will look at all areas including reading, writing, listening, speaking, math, social studies, and science. You will leave with a list of apps that I found work well to increase learning for students. In addition, there are many ways to use the devices built in features that you will find easy for you and your students. Whether you have one device or many, I will show you tips and ideas for making the most of this technology. This day is designed to share the dozens of practical ways apps and mobile devices can be used to increase achievement, participation and motivation of every student in your classroom. Most importantly, I m excited about the many ways we can use apps, ipads and other mobile devices to increase motivation and achievement for all our students, both the high-achieving and struggling. Remembering that it is one of many tools for instruction, you will discover how you can easily incorporate it into what you are already doing to differentiate your instruction and meet the needs of the digital natives in your classrooms! Sincerely, Mary Peterson P.S. You will leave this seminar with practical ideas for making the best use of ipads/mobile devices and apps to greatly increase student learning and motivation! 4
