2 Plug & Go Heavy-Duty Connectors for areas Connectors The HD Z2 connectors are engineered for use within the harsh & demanding environment of Oil & Gas facilities. The HD Z2 family of connectors can be assembled on site or, save time and order prefabricated cable sets. Designed for use with tray cables from 6-10mm or 10-14mm in outside diameter (cable insulation jacket) the HD Z2 family of connectors can be integrated with many types of power and instrument tray cables. Coding The HD Z2 family of connectors and cable-sets are designed to give the designer and installer a complete range of simple to specify, identify and install connectors. Mechanical coding of coloured inserts can virtually eliminates mis-mating issues in the field. Cable-mounted and Panel-mounted housings can contain 2, 3, 4 or 5 pole male/female inserts. Applications The flexibility of the insert housings and inserts of the HD Z2 family of connectors allows for simple and quick addition of connectors to your existing panel design. The connectors can be introduced to your end device power or instrument device and give you plug & go functionality with very little re-design of your existing design. Do not attempt to remove the M25 male thread adapter as it has been permanently attached in the factory to the male M20 thread of the panel mount insulating housing. Any attempt to remove this adapter by force will destroy the threads. Refer to Wieland Installation & Assembly brochure: Part number NOTE: Bend radius (for cables & conductors) The minimum bending radius for the conductors/cables is >2.5mm 2, or according to the specification listed by the cable manufacturer. Pull forces on the contact points can be avoided by ensuring as follows: Bend the cable as recommended by your local regulation body s acceptable installation practice. Secure excess cable in the cable tray or protected location to minimize strain on connectors 13
