4 Welcome to the center of competence Siemens Flow Instruments is an innovative competence center, which develops, manufactures, markets and services the flowmeters known as SITRANS F. 4 Our products range from electronic meters based on magnetic-inductive, coriolis and ultrasound technologies to the more classical mechanical meters. They meet high standards of accuracy within process industries including water and wastewater, chemical, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, mining, paper, energy, automotive, oil and gas industries. We develop new flowmeters and continuously improve the existing ones. Furthermore, we manufacture and market our flowmeters, as well as assisting in planning, analysis, consulting in specifications and commissioning, as well as running ongoing tests where required. Last but not least, we have a competent service team at our disposal, which en - sures fast and professional after-sales service around the globe. Siemens Flow Instruments supports its customers competitiveness by providing them with staff qualified in measurement technology as the need arises. Our headquarters is located at the Industrial Park in Nordborg on the island of Als in Denmark. We also have factories at Stonehouse in England, Hauppauge on Long Island, USA and Dalian in China. 7 Jeppe Pedersen: Employed in Karlsruhe after traineeship I thought it sounded incredibly exciting to become a trainee in a global concern, and I have never regretted joining Siemens. Normally, trainees are not assigned to international postings, but I spent eight weeks in the purchasing department in Stonehouse a really good experience. After my traineeship was completed, my manager drew my attention to the position available at headquarters in Karlsruhe, where I now deal with complaint management. That is to say, our regional sales offices can contact me, if for example the delivery time on an order has been extended. «Fulvia Ghirardi: Moved from Italy to Denmark We moved to Denmark when my partner got a job in this part of the world back in I had heard many good things about Siemens and therefore chose to apply for a job here. I was especially attracted by the idea of working for a company with a strong position in the international market, and the opportunities that could open up. Today I work with finance and controlling for Siemens Flow Instruments' R&D department. «Mikal Jesper Nielsen: Internal job rotation with new challenges After graduation as an electrical engineer, I saw an advertisement from Siemens Flow Instruments, offering a job with a good variety of work. Later, my manager told me about a new job opportunity in the organization, which I applied for and won. A good example showing that one can always find new challenges at Siemens, in technical work and in project management. I experience a good combination of independence and inspiration from my colleagues. 7

I participated in a period of six months work experience, where I worked in software development using eddl and C++. That period of work experience was decisive for my job application. I had obtained greater insight into advanced software development than my university course could offer, and that definitely aroused my interest. Now I can work with embedded development and bus communication on a daily basis. «Torben A. Christensen: PhD. Student from the University of Southern Denmark The opportunity for a company-based PhD arose after five years of study in mechatronics. I spend about half of my time at Siemens Flow Instruments as a member of the research group in the R&D department. The other half of the time, I am in the mathematical research environment at the university. Along the way, I receive support from the university heavyweights in mathematics and physics, and also from an experienced development group specializing in precisely the instrumentation I work with at Siemens. 9

Working hours We work an average of 37 hours per week and offer flexible working hours. Salary At Siemens, pay levels are determined individually, taking market rates for the given position into account. Upon employment, pay is agreed individually and reflects aspects such as your qualifica - tions, your potential and the difficulty of the job. Later, your personal efforts will likewise become an important factor in salary adjustments. Full-time accident insurance Falck Patient Transport The monthly insurance premiums are paid by the company. Maternity leave If you are pregnant, you have the right to maternity leave four weeks prior to the predicted birth date. After the birth, we offer 20 weeks maternity leave with full pay. Holidays We follow the Danish holiday rules for five weeks annual leave, where three weeks normally fall in the July-August period, and approximately one week falls between Christmas and New Year. After completion of nine months employment, you obtain the right to an additional five days of annual leave.
