It was whilst travelling in Asia that I realised Siemens would be an amazing place to work. When I arrived at a chaotic Bangkok airport I found it surprisingly easy and comfortable to get to the city centre by train and as I stepped onto the platform, I realised that it was one that Siemens produced. I was amazed and did some more research about Siemens and trains. The idea of supporting the infrastructure of tomorrow s sustainable megacities was really appealing to me and made me realise what a driven and innovative company Siemens is. Tom Hammond Studied: MSc Electrical and Electronic Engineering Newcastle University When applying to university, I also applied to the E3 Academy, which offers sponsorship to students studying Electrical Engineering at the Universities of Nottingham, Bristol and Newcastle. E3 students are provided with work placements to give you experience of real-world engineering and it was through this scheme that I was offered sponsorship with Siemens. After graduating, it was a natural decision to join Siemens and I am working as an Electrical Engineer in the Digital Factory division for the Industry Automation business. I work on regional projects with teams of engineers and project managers to deliver complex automation, safety and manufacturing real-time systems. The extensive training delivered by the Graduate Development Programme has given me the technical and non-technical skills needed to be an effective member of the team and genuinely contribute to business success

11 Graduate Opportunities Global Siemens Graduate Program The Global Siemens Graduate Program (SGP) offers three challenging assignments in two years, one of them abroad, with intense on and off-the-job training, to prepare you for future management responsibilities. Do you qualify for the Global Siemens Graduate Program (SGP)? As our ideal candidate, you will have: Take your first step towards an international management career with the Global Siemens Graduate Program. You ll take part in three demanding work assignments over two years, each lasting eight months. The highlight is no doubt the assignment abroad, which you ll complete at one of our near 1,700 worldwide business locations. You ll have a personal mentor at your side throughout; someone to help you fully develop and reach your potential. Together, you ll decide what your personal program will look like, based on your qualifications and personal interests as well as our business requirements. We ll support you with a variety of demanding training measures, with topics that range from communication and leadership, to the basics of project management. The program makes the international Siemens community tangible and accessible. From the very start, you ll be able to build up and expand your personal and global Siemens network. A genuine desire to work abroad, as well as the willingness to take significant responsibility at an early stage in your career.
