To complete the configuration, click Apply on the Central Configuration Server home page. This will enable video storage on the remote device. Motion alarms in Facility Commander 2.2 VisioWave Event Manager The VisioWave system sends system events through a central manager called the Event Manager. All events in the system are sent to the Event Manager. After receiving an event, the Event Manager controls the action to be performed based on the CCS configuration for that event. Click the User s Guide tab to open the CCS User Manual for detailed information about the Event Manager. Some of the actions that an Event Manager can take include: Start storage for a camera Signal a relay Notify clients who had subscribed for the event Call a camera preset Send video to a monitor VisioWave Activity Detection The VisioWave Activity Detection (AD) plug-in performs the stream analysis that detects motion in a video stream. The AD plug-in is an add-on component to the Video Operating System. It must be installed into the VOS and configured in the CCS for stream analysis of a specific camera input. Motion alarm configuration for VisioWave VOS 3.x To configure motion alarms for VisioWave VOS 3.x, you'll need to perform two steps. First, upload the Activity Detection (AD) plug-in to the CCS. Second, configure the AD plug-in for all cameras in the CCS that are to support motion detection and alarms. Facility Commander 2.2 with VisioWave Setup Guide 21

To upload the AD plug-in to the CCS: 1. On the Central Configuration Server home page, click the User Files tab to open the Folder:/ page. 2. On the Folder:/ page, click the Video Processing Plugins button to open the Folder:/Video Processor Plugins/ page. 3. Click either the Windows or Linux check box (based on the DVR configuration) to open the Folder:/Video Processor Plugins/Windows or Linux page. 4. Select the appropriate file to upload, and then click the Upload New File button. To configure the AD plug-in for input cameras: 1. On the Central Configuration Server home page, click the Inputs tab to open the List of Video Inputs page. 2. Select the desired input channel, and then click on the Image Processors button to open the List of Image Processors form. 3. Click the New Image Processor button to open the New Image Processor form. 4. Enter the name of the image processor on the New Image Processor form. The naming convention of the instance should be one of the following: <DVR name in Facility Commander 2.2 without spaces>_<camera Number> or <DVR name in Facility Commander 2.2 without spaces>_ad_<camera Number> Cameras are numbered consecutively starting at Enter all pertinent data on the New Image Processor form, and then click OK to complete the configuration. Motion alarm configuration for VisioWave VOS 4.x For VOS 4.1 DVR systems, the AD plug-in can be configured in the CCS when adding new equipment to the CCS. To configure the AD plug-in when adding new equipment: 1. On the Central Configuration Server home page, click the Equipment tab to open the List of Video Equipment page. 2. Click the New Video Equipment button to open the Basic Parameters form. 3. Enter all pertinent information on the Basic Parameters form, and then click Next to advance to the Channel Type form. 4. Check the AD check box for all inputs that require Motion Alarm. 22 Facility Commander 2.2 with VisioWave Setup Guide

5. Click Next to advance through the various forms and complete the DVR configuration, and then click Finish. To ensure Facility Commander 2.2 receives motion events: 1. On the Central Configuration Server home page, click the Inputs tab to open the List of Video Inputs page. 2. Select the desired input channel, and then click the Image Processors button to open the List of Image Processors form. 3. Select the appropriate image processor, and then click the Edit button to open the Edit form. 4. Make sure the naming convention for the instance is one of the following: <DVR name in Facility Commander 2.2 without spaces>_<camera Number> or <DVR name in Facility Commander 2.2 without spaces>_ad_<camera Number> Cameras are numbered consecutively starting at 1. Facility Commander 2.2 with VisioWave Setup Guide 23

Motion alarm search from Facility Commander 2.2 VisioWave VOS version 4.2 and newer provides the means to capture motion-based alarms on any given storage. Motion alarm capture should only be enabled for event-based storage. To enable motion alarm search in Facility Commander 2.2: 1. Configure event-based storage in accordance with procedures specified in Video playback configuration for VisioWave VOS 4.x on page On the Storage Settings page, select the Store AD data check box as shown in the illustration below. When the check box is selected, the DVR will capture the motion alarms for the given camera stream. 3. The alarms can be searched from the Facility Commander Motion Search tab without any additional configuration in the Facility Commander application. VisioWave event server failover (VOS 4.x only) VisioWave VOS version 4.x provides Event Manager failover capability. This means that there can be more than one Event Manager configured in the system and if an Event Manager fails, the backup Event Manager will immediately take over to ensure no system events are lost. This operation is transparent to the user. 24 Facility Commander 2.2 with VisioWave Setup Guide

Signal Facility Commander 2.2 events to the VisioWave Event Manager VisioWave driver events Facility Commander 2.2 is an integration platform that receives event notifications from multiple sources. These events could be used to tag appropriate cameras. The VisioWave driver supports signaling the VisioWave Event Manager on a camera tag event. When the driver receives a request to tag a camera track with alarm text, the alarm text is set on the storage track and an event is signaled to Event Manager with following format. FC_MARK_<Facility Commander 2.2 DVR Tag without spaces>_<camera Number> The actual alarm text is also sent to the Event Manager as extended information. The above event could be used in the CCS to configure the required action for the event on the specified camera. Possible actions are storage initiation or call preset. Playback Auto Stream switch VisioWave recorders can be configured to record Video at a preset rate. The recording can be triggered through an event or can be a scheduled recording. The following diagram illustrates a playback time span in a VisioWave recorder. The Facility Commander 2.2 driver selects a video track for playback of a specific time as follows: 1. The user chooses to play recorded video through the VMC console using either quick playback or general playback. 2. The driver receives the requested playback time and queries the DVR for the video track with highest FPS at that instant of time. 3. The Driver streams the video to the Facility Commander 2.2 client for display. 4. The driver continues the same stream until a new stream with higher FPS is available. If a new higher FPS stream is available, the driver switches to the new stream. 5. If the currently playing highest FPS stream reaches the end of span, the driver will look for the available video tracks at that instance and switch to the highest track from the available streams. The driver will continue to stream video until a video track exists on the DVR for the given camera. When the global end is reached, video will loop back to the global beginning. Facility Commander 2.2 with VisioWave Setup Guide 25

Figure 1: Playback track selection algorithm 5 FPS 5 FPS 12 FPS 25 FPS 25 FPS Playback Interval 5 FPS 25 FPS 12 FPS 25 FPS 5 FPS Playback Start Playback End Time synchronization of the recorder with Facility Commander 2.2 All of the VisioWave recorders in an installation are time synchronized to a single NTP server specified in the CCS configuration. To configure the NTP Server: 1. From the CCS home page click the Settings tab on the Administrative bar located at the bottom of the page to open the Global Settings form. By default the CCS server hosts an NTP server for a VisioWave installation. If the CCS is selected as the NTP server, and your firewall is ON, port 123 must be entered in the exception list. The NTP Server can be configured as any other system hosting an NTP server. 2. For Facility Commander 2.2 applications, click Other. Enter a host ID that is used as a timekeeper for the Facility Commander 2.2 application in the NTP SERVER box. This ensures that the VisioWave recorders are synchronized with the Facility Commander 2.2 server. 26 Facility Commander 2.2 with VisioWave Setup Guide

Known limitations The PTZ communication port should be 800x, where x represents the camera number on the DVR with TCP port 500x. Deleting a VisioWave machine from the Central Configuration Server (CCS) does not take it offline from Facility Commander 2.2. Always take the DVR offline and then put it back online after any CCS changes. Facility Commander 2.2 does not manage time synchronization for VisioWave deployments. The VisioWave platform requires direct synchronization with the NTP services. We recommend that the Facility Commander 2.2 and VisioWave platforms be synchronized to a common NTP server to ensure the accuracy of the date and time stamps for events between both systems. The Event Manager must be configured for the DVR on VOS versions prior to 4.1. For version 4.1 and later, a single event manager for any machine is sufficient. The Activity Detection (AD) plug-in must be configured in the CCS for the cameras using motion alarm functionality. The image processor must be configured with the Facility Commander 2.2 DVR name. The activity detection image processor for IP cameras can only run on the Discovery 2405i dual-processor configuration. The maximum number of cameras supported by GE VisioWave DVRs is 32. Motion alarm search is only supported by VisioWave DVRs running VOS 4.2 and newer. Motion alarms are captured by the DVR only if they are enabled while performing storage configuration. Remote storage for the DVR has to be configured while the device is offline. Facility Commander 2.2 with VisioWave Setup Guide 27
