3 2 Setting Up Your If you require any addresses, please provide us with the user name(s) and password(s) that you would like for your account(s). If you have not, or do not remember these, please go to our website at and click on the link on the right hand side of the main page to request addresses. Please note that all passwords are confidential. You may change your password once your has been set up via the webmail login page ( Your password information is kept in strict confidence and we take your privacy very seriously. If you have any questions regarding this please do not hesitate to ask. You may use any client you like. Below are the instructions for some common clients. Adding an account to Thunderbird Adding an account with Thunderbird is easy. All you need is a working copy of Thunderbird which is available from although installation of Thunderbird is outside the scope of this document, you can visit US&redirectslug=Installing+Thunderbird for the official installation instructions. 1. If you already have Thunderbird installed, simply click the button (in the top right corner) 'Options' then 'Account Settings' then 'Add Mail Account' Figure 1

4 3 2. You will see the dialog box below. Enter your name, and password, then click on Continue. Figure 2 3. The following dialog box will appear. Click the Manual config button. Figure 3

6 5 2. Select 'Manually configure server settings or additional server types' and click 'Next' Figure 6 3. Select 'Internet ' and click 'Next' Figure 7

7 6 4. Now fill in the following: 'Your Name' is usually your first and last names. ' Address' is the address you were given (usually what you requested, unless the address has already been taken). 'Incoming mail server' is mail.simco .com 'Outgoing mail server (SMTP)' is smtp.simco .com 'User Name' is simply your address. 'Password' is as you requested. Click 'Next' Figure 8 5. Click Outgoing Server, check the box beside My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Click OK. Figure 9

8 7 6. Click Advanced, Select SSL for Incoming server encryption, enter 587 as the Outgoing server port number, select TLS for the Outgoing server encryption and click on OK. Figure Click Next Figure 11

Figure 14 Adding an account with Mac OS X Mail using IMAP The screenshots provided in this article reflect Macintosh Mail Open Finder and launch the Mail application. 2. 11 10 3. Click the Accounts icon at the top of the window and then click the plus sign (+) at the bottom-left of the window to add an account. Figure Enter your Full Name, Address and Password. When finished, click the Continue button. Figure 17

12 11 5. From the Account Type drop-down menu, select IMAP. 6. Now fill in the following: Description is usually your first and last names. Incoming Mail Server is mail.simco .com User Name is simply your address Password is as you requested Click the Continue button when finished. 13 12 Outgoing Mail Server is smtp.simco .com Check the box for Use Authentication User name is simply your address Password is as you requested. Click the Continue button when finished. 8. Review the information entered on the Account Summary page. If all information is correct, check the box for Take account online and click the Create button. 9. Close the Accounts window.
