1 REGULAR SCHOOL BOARD MEETING INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 882 MONTICELLO, MINNESOTA 1780 The Monticello Board of Education held their organizational school board meeting on Monday, March 7 th, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the Middle School Board Room. Board Members Present: Jill Bartlett, Melissa (Missy) Hanson, Carol McNaughton, Robbie Smith, William (Bill) Spartz and Dr. Jim Johnson, Superintendent. Board Members Absent: Jeff Hegle Also present: District Administrators and community guests. Location: District Board Room Date: Monday, March 7 th, 2016 Time: 6:00 p.m. AGENDA: 1. Request for a Change in the Course Requirements for Algebra B2 2B at Monticello High School Linda Borgerding, Director of Curriculum and Instruction requested a change of graduation math course credits. The High School Math Department requests that Algebra 2B be changed from a full-year course to a

2 semester long course starting in the school year. The math department has shown that the Algebra 2 benchmarks can be covered within the parameters of Algebra 2A as a full-year course and Algebra 2B as a semester course Approved by: Carol McNaughton Seconded by: Missy Hanson 7. Proposal of New Policies Jim Johnson, Superintendent presented the following new polices for a first reading; annotations will be made and updated and brought back at a future meeting for approval. 9. Policy 706 Post Issuance Debt Compliance Calendar Proposal Jim Johnson, Superintendent brought back calendar options A and B (that were presented at a previous board meeting) and a new option C calendar option.
