Bullhead City Elementary School District donated four sports hydrotherapy tubs valued at $7,500. b. Edison International donated $ to the Mohave High School Football Program. Volunteer was Shawn Lynch. 7. Approval of the Beauty Club at Mohave High School, as approved by the Student Council. We have obtained clarification from the advisor on the bylaws of the Beauty Club at MHS. They rewrote the rules to show that they will not be using any chemicals during their club meetings. 4 Motion to approve the formation of the Beauty Club at Mohave High School. Second: Lori Crampton 8. Discussion and possible action regarding the April revision to the budget for Pulled from agenda for this month. 9. Discussion and possible action regarding approval of District Calendar for and the choice of spring break in March Mr. Frei included two options for proceeding with the calendar. The first is to keep with the calendar of Mohave Valley Elementary School District; the second is to split the calendar such that RVHS spring break would align with MVESD and MHS spring break would align with BHCESD. The board discussed the options and decided that the district should not have a break on March 15 which is one of the four days during the year that the State collects attendance information. Motion to schedule spring break for the district during the week of March 19-23, Vote: Yes Mark Collins, Richard Hendrix, Lori Crampton, Jon Moss No Kari Hoffman 10. Discussion and possible action regarding Policy Advisory No. 403, Public Hearing Dating Abuse. Mr. Frei reported that legislation from last year requires the district to host a public hearing to determine the extent to which we will pursue a Dating Abuse Curriculum to be administered in the schools. Motion to schedule a public hearing at the Regular Meeting on May 9, Discussion and possible action regarding first reading of Policy JK Student Discipline. Due to a minor omission in the recent revision of Policy JK Student Discipline, the recent revision to this policy has been recommended for approval. The board made one more change to the language replacing distributed with made available in the third paragraph of the policy. Motion to approve first reading of Policy JK Student Discipline, with noted changes to wording in the third paragraph. 12. Discussion and possible action to approve teacher contract wording for There was only one change to the wording on page 2, paragraph 2, the word budget is repeated twice in the first sentence. 5 Motion to approve the teacher contract wording for with the above change. 13. Discussion and possible action to approve administrator contract wording for The only changes to the administrator contract were on page 2 of 3, fitness to teach should be left in the sentence, not deleted; and on page 3 of 3, change the time for returning signed contracts from thirty days to fifteen business days. Motion to approve the administrator contract wording for with the changes as noted above. Motion: Kari Hoffman 14. Discussion and possible action regarding proposals from the district for submission to ASBA for consideration for 2012 ASBA action. Mr. Frei reported that this is our annual opportunity to made recommendations for ASBA s legislative lobbying campaign for next session. No action. 15. Discussion and possible action to select a Board delegate and alternate, to attend the Arizona School Boards Association (ASBA) Delegate Assembly, June 25, 2011, in Scottsdale, Arizona. Motion to appoint Lori Crampton as the delegate and have the district pay her registration fee.
