3 Courses for teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language ELE (onsite and online) SCHOOL LOCATION SCHOOL DESCRIPTION Cervantes Escuela Internacional, with 30 years of experience in teaching Spanish as a foreign language, features high quality and interactive educational material. This, together with the effectiveness of their teaching methods and sociocultural program, ensures an excellent cultural and language immersion program. Furthermore, we offer our students a personalized service in a pleasant atmosphere that will make your stay unforgettable. Cervantes E.I. Cervantes E.I. is situated in Pedregalejo, the prettiest and most attractive area of Malaga, near the old fishing neighbourhood, which has now become the fashionable part of the city for eating out, having a drink or enjoying the coves of the Pedregalejo beach. ACCREDITED CENTRE Cervantes E.I. is an accredited centre of the Cervantes Institute and founding member of the organizations of reference in the field of Spanish as a Foreign Language. Málaga o Pedregalejo o El Palo o Pedregalejo Pedregalejo is the combination of all the potential appeal of Malaga city in a residential area: beaches, seafront promenade, lush palm trees, acacias and jacarandas, and a wide range of local restaurants where you can taste the typical Malaga fried fish and watch the sunset... and only 15 minutes from the city centre. 4 5
4 Courses for teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language ELE (onsite and online) MALAGA Malaga is also known as a City of Museums. A total of 36 museums, most of which are concentrated in the Historic Centre, make it one of the cities with the highest concentration of museums in the historic centre. Next to the city centre you can find fantastic beaches. There you can enjoy restaurants, terraces, and aquatic and leisure activities. Also, Malaga has about 300 days of sunshine a year, so you can relax on the beaches almost all year round. The contrasts between its views and the unique beauty of its geography which is formed by the contrasts between mountain and sea, sun and snow, valleys and beach coves, make Malaga an extraordinary region. Located on the south of the Iberian Peninsula, Malaga is the fifth largest city in Spain by number of inhabitants, has an area of square kilometres and its population borders on 570,000 inhabitants, although its metropolitan area is around a million. The Mediterranean Sea bathes its shore and the Malaga Mountains surround it, forming a mountainous barrier that defends it from the cold, characterising its climate with mild temperatures due to the sea acting as a thermal regulator. Malaga was founded by the Phoenicians in the 8th century B.C, making it one of the oldest cities in Europe. It has been declared a Historic Site, as few cities in the world can claim to have so many layers of footprints from previous civilizations from across the centuries. Phoenician ruins, Punic ruins, Roman and Arab ruins, etc, have converted the centre of the city into an authentic historical palimpsest in which we can find monuments such as the Roman theatre, the Alcazaba, the Cathedral, the Aduana, Jewish quarter as well as a rich archaeological heritage. Today, Malaga is a modern city while still maintaining its special character. As a cosmopolitan city, Malaga still retains its cosy feel despite the large influence that foreign tourism in the Costa del Sol has had on other cities and towns along the coast. Given everything mentioned above, its culture, climate, surroundings, and cosmopolitan character, Malaga becomes the ideal destination for Spanish students. 6 7
