1 Landauer has now enabled numerous features that allow you to go paperless with your dosimetry reports. Here are four new features that make that option possible. 1) More intuitive PDF report file names on myldr 2) Ability to Mass Download Reports via myldr and store them on your network 3) Improved notifications containing the reports now available to retrieve from myldr (coming soon) 4) Ability to electronically sign your reports on your network This document specifically addresses item #4. It recommends a free Adobe tool you can download and provides instructions for how to place an electronic signature on your reports. Let s get started. Step 1: Download Adobe Reader Go to Download Adobe Reader, which is a free product from Adobe. Click on Download and select Adobe Reader from the dropdown. Click Install now and you are on your way. If you already have Adobe Reader but it does not contain the Sign capability, open Adobe Reader, click Help. From the dropdown, click Check for Updates and it will download the most current version. If you see the message updater is already running, go back to Step 1. Page 1 of 5

2 Step 2: Open the report to sign Open the PDF Dosimetry Report(s) that you have downloaded via myldr to your network with Adobe Reader. If Adobe Reader is your default PDF viewer program, just double click on the report to open. If not, right click on the PDF Report you wish to sign and click on Open with Adobe Reader. (See example) Step 3: Review and sign Review each and every page of the PDF Dosimetry Report. When you are ready to approve, either apply your initials or signature to the report.* *Note: Refer to your State regulations and/or State regulators on whether you can just sign the front page or if you need to sign all pages of the report. A) Click the Sign tab. Page 2 of 5

3 B) You have many options for creating your signature. The two most popular are Type my signature and Use an image. With Type my signature Adobe will create a signature for you in one of four fonts as you type your name. See example for how Type my signature might look. (Note: you can also enter a date beside your signature.) After you select the font style, click Accept. With Use an Image Adobe will allow you to upload a previously saved jpg file of your signature.* *Note: Your jpg signature file needs to be created and saved outside of Adobe Reader. (If inclined you can include your licensee number as part of your jpg file.) See example for how Use my image might look. After you browse for your jpg signature file, click Accept. Page 3 of 5

4 B) After you click Accept, your cursor turns into your signature. Once you find the spot on the report to drop your signature, just click once and the signature will be placed on the report. esignature Instruction Guide C) For all subsequent pages* you need to sign, repeat clicking on Place Signature and your last saved/used signature will be placed on that page of the report. 5 D) Once you are done signing all the necessary pages, just execute a standard File Save or File Save As of the signed file to your network. Other Applications: Here is an illustration where two people review the report. One person (Barry Wolf) will Place Initials on it (BW), showing they have done the first review and then the second person (Mary O Brien), likely the RSO, does the final review and on the same report will Place Signature.
